Not comparable. Hargrave will get paid because he can rush the QB. He isnt getting 20m+ per year for run stopping prowess. 2 down DT's like Hankins are cheap. Apple to oranges
Lol, I was not comparing those two for sure.

He has never topped 7.5 sacks before this year.

I would not want to gamble 84M on a 1-time aberration caused in large part by having 8 quality DL and playing the 30th ranked schedule.

But I m glad someone got him out of Philly because them losing talent is good.
He’s still a DT who don’t usually put up big sack numbers. He does both things very well defending the run and the pass and is a great addition to an already top notch D line that has our number every January. They just took a huge step forward! The Eagles losing talent isn’t really a consolation in this scenario.

He’s a stud defensive tackle who had more sacks than everyone on this team besides parsons. lol real stupid.
Jason Hatcher had 10 sacks and I don’t recall many calling him a stud. Robert Quinn had 10 plus sacks and hasn’t been heard from since. Sacks aren’t the end all. Cowboys issue against the run has nothing to do with sacks.

It took less than a half hour for you to be proven wrong. That might be a record. This is not Jason Hatcher or Robert Quinn. This is a top tier DT who excels in both defending the run and the pass. You tell yourself whatever you need to but the Niners had the number 1 D in football and still brought him in and will no doubt benefit from it. But stick to your guns!

What did you prove me wrong on lol? Robert Quinn wasn’t a stud? He has over 100 sacks for his career? Jason Hatcher had 11 sacks in 2013….what did I say that was wrong lol? Hargrave was so dominant….never made an All Pro in his career. Made one pro bowl in his career.

I never said the 49ers wouldn’t benefit off him I said they were stupid. You’re so quick to defend them you didn’t even realize what I said. But what did I say was wrong again?

It doesn't matter if we run out Ronald McDonald at WR 2 and have him playing DT on defense jerry will still sell that we are a SB contender and people will still believe him.

I mean they’ve won 24 games in two years….doesn’t take him to say we are contenders…..

These are different positions! This is exactly the type of DT we've been needing. You said no team would sign him for more than 1 year at that price and here we are. And the team that beat the Cowboys and sent them packing from the postseason are the stupid ones? I'm not seeing it.

Oh yeah sorry you’re right I was wrong lol. I did not think anyone would totally wrong there. Glad the Cowboys didn’t do but typically the 49ers are smart on money.

I disagree this is the DT we need. We need someone to eat up blocks not just simply rush the passer. We need someone to help us against the run. Eagles sucked against the run last year.

And yeah 49ers are stupid lol. They’ve been stupid the last two years honestly. Lynch is feeling pressure and making stupid moves.

They sent this team packing twice. Lynch feeling pressure is exactly the thing that separates these teams. There's no pressure at all here.

I think ur underestimating Ronald McDonald……

Feeling pressure can have you do stupid things. I’m not for a cheap don’t office but I am for spending wisely. But I mean if you think the guy is a star I can get why you’d like it.
This aged well.
Yeah I was high when I said it….

Yet fans were willing to pizz that money away on Amari Cooper and think we’re getting some kind of deal.
Amari's contract wasn't bad, Zeke's was revolutionary bad value wise and the down grade from him to Gallup was astounding as well.

Value vs production wasn't there at all. That was not a good contract and it was exactly why they had the out after the 21 season. You knew that was the time to move on and find that production cheaper. The problem is the Cowboys as usual did a terrible job looking for a WR and replacing him. James Washington? That was the move? More comic gold from this front office even after they do the right thing.
