Look at the way we are lined up. Those Giant lineman are taking free shots at the second level and we trot out a bunch of undersized lbs expecting them to crash down into that.

Im a little concerned with Parkers scheme and having the right type of lbs to succeed in it.

That's it right there. I don't dislike Barham AT ALL but need someone with experience doing that. Von Miller was the wrong over the hill signing. Bobby Wagner was green dot most of his career and would help a lot in stopping the run for this Defense. They should've signed him instead of Miller.

Yes it's initial responsibility relaying/calling the play, but it'll make the gameplay decision making easier as he's the central keystone at MLB, around which the rest of the second level revolves. Good point on the learning.

Problems are what happens with rookies who aren't prepared to deal with issues sensibly. He'll either learn to communicate respectfully or be relegated to watching others replace him. He's due to become subjected to more incidents if he doesn't shape up and be willing to talk openly without losing control. Here's a young man who must develop a more patient prominence or eventually be dismissed.

It’s a role based on mastery of the defense, the skill to read the opposing offenses presnap, the capability to make defensive adjustments in seconds and and the ability to communicate to the rest of the defense

This is a mistake.

Maybe next year but trusting the signal caller role to a rookie whose never had this type of responsibility, in a brand new defense is asking for trouble.

I’d rather see it go with Winters

I'd like to see Caleb Downs in that role.

If Barham can't handle the responsibilities (green dot) and they don't bring in an experienced vet, I think the coaches throw him into the mix--eventually.

I understand that CP moves Downs all over the field (chess piece) in his scheme, but In the long-run Downs will take over those duties. His skillset makes too much sense. Of course I could be wrong.

Due to his elite football IQ and demonstrated ability to lead, i believe he would excel at the position.

In addition, Downs has shown the required traits on two of the biggest stages in college football. (Alabama/Ohio State)

I'm not sayin the kid is a savant or anything, but if he reaches that level--I'll take the credit.
