Hill: No need at CB right now, but Moore would be top choice

I like Moore -- he is unafraid to play the run -- but I think he is a little too aggressive for this defense. He might be a good fit if the pass rush was significantly better.

I'm shocked he was cut, and more shocked he wasn't picked up. But then I remember: "if he's so good, then why is he still available?"

i think he is solid, but he has reached his ceiling. teams are looking at young guys with a higher ceiling on their rosters. now if someone lost a starter then i suspect he would be getting calls. but the cb's on the bottom of any teams roster are developmental guys they see as more potential.

I would pick him up and cut a safety, Heath or McCray. With our luck, we will need him and he would have signed the day before to another team. I like him and I thought he did a good job.

That's probably it. But he was a guy I thought we could rely on to play in nickel packages (outside) in a pinch and not have to worry about too much. He could also be used as the S in a single-high packages. Those guys aren't typically available on the street in week 3.

I'd feel a lot more comfortable with him on the roster, honestly. Given that our ST coverage was pretty good w/out McCray on the roster week one, there's be a spot for him. Except now McCray's salary is guaranteed.

So we cut a guy who can actually contribute, meanwhile Matt Johnson is doing what exactly?

I'm not as high on Moore as most people around here but he's proven to be a decent, serviceable CB. Better bring him back before some other team capitalizes on the opportunity

Moore is more of a man coverage corner. He doesn't really fit this scheme well which I think is part of why the team let him go. Also to the guy who said he's unafraid to play the run I have to disagree, from what I saw in pre season he didn't much like to come up and tackle unless it was his man catching the ball. I think he is a great press man cover corner tho and am surprised he hasn't been picked up by a team that favors that type of corner.

He has proven two things to this point 1)He is unwilling to fill against the run 2)He gambles too much. As a fifth corner I wouldn't be opposed, but the fifth corner needs to be a ST guy and Moore is the last person I expect to fight blocks downfield and make a tackle. That's why he isn't here.
