Hillis v Schmitt

A 2nd TE shouldn't be drafted high, sorry.

Drafting a TE high isn't the problem, drafting a 2nd TE when you have other needs, is a problem.

Last I checked, we haven't come close to the Pats success in recent years. It's not thing when you're playing with house money, and another when you're in the middle of rebuilding.

Not to mention that Fasano had nearly no impact once drafted because they either didn't scheme for him, or he wasn't as good as we believed.

We're obviously not going to agree on this one cause there's nothing any of you can say to change my mind that Fasano was a bad pick that high in that particular draft.
And again, Bill Belichick disagrees with you.

No one is trying to change your mind....just telling you how wrong you are. ;)

It's too bad he doesn't coach the Cowboys.

Trust me, the day where I care what you think is the day I stick my head in an oven and end it all.

Drama Queen much?

I went to a FB debate thread and a TE debate broke out. ***?

Well that turned out to be a mistake. Do we do it twice in three years?
Do what? make drafting mistakes 2 out of 3 years? I bet we do it every year, just like every other team in the NFL.

Hillis posted a better 40 time and has a 30 inch Vert i think its safe to assume that Schmitt can't beat his vert =)

HIllis looks like a better all around athelte

*sigh*

Hillis is definitely going to post better numbers. He's not as big as Schmitt.

...does that make him a better athlete? Debatable.

...does that make him a better football player. Hell no.

...that being said, I like both of them.

Hillis 6'0 3/4 240
Schmitt 6'0 1/4 247
Hester 5'10 1/2 220 4.60

just break up your theory not only is hester small than schmitt he ran a better 40 wait didn't HIllis run a better forty than Mario ?

Hillis >>>>>>>>>> Schmitt

But I wouldn't draft either one of them before the 5th.

You did what? You broke up my theory? Where? When did this happen?

Are you a ******?

If hes value and we pick him up in the fourth round or after where every prognosticator then I dont completely hate is. Say what you want about Fasano, but he was value at wehre we picked him in the second round. I also think thta another year under Garrett and hes going to get better.

A quality FB would help us on short yardage and ST.

But reaching for a fullback would make me start structure fires. Reaching is bad but reaching for a position you really don't need is just asinine. Reaching for a FB is something I would expect Al Davis to do.

Now I said this before. Its very doubtful that a rookie FB would see much playing time seeing the staffs tendency to play vets in a vertical passing game and the fact that both guys played in VERY heavy running offenses.

Not another Owen Schmitt thread.

Its a FB thread. 15 years and people still want another Daryl Johnston. Its as if they dont watch today's game.
