Hines Ward

Well i genuinely feel Mendenhall is better then Felix but got thrashed for it.
I am not saying Ward is better than anyone and trying to stir up trouble. There's a slight difference there.

You don't think that was going for the head? He acts like he's going to engage the first DB and then hauls off on Reed's chin. I have no problem with people liking him, but he is dirty.

That was a dirty hit? :lmao2:

Pulease. Ward folds his arms and gets under Reed. Ward is trying to "lift" Reed off his feet, which is what you're supposed to do or how you're taught to block.

Look, defenders don't like getting their bell's rung. They want to dish out all the punishment.

Ward says, "Forget that. I'm blocking just as hard for my guys as you would tackle just as hard for your guys."

I wish we had a player like Ward on the Cowboys.

Love Hines Ward.

He's not the most amazing WR but he's pretty clutch. All heart and plays HARD.

Wow, it's like you didn't even attempt to read what I wrote.

I read your response and watched the video. You used the video as evidence to support your claim that Ward is a dirty player (Why else would you offer it?) That wasn't a dirty hit. He cleaned Reed's clock while blocking for a teammate. That's what you're supposed to do. Don't get mad at Ward because he plays the game hard.

I hate the Steelers, but I have always had tremendous respect for this guy and the way he plays the game. If he had been a Dallas Cowboy I honestly think he would be one of my absolute favorite players.
he is one of my favorite players in the league, i love the way he plays the WR position, i wish he was a cowboy, or at least not on the steelers

He gives his all and is a superior blocker but as far as being up there with Rice,Irvin etc he isnt even close.
He cant work the sidelines and has to get open in a trips or stack formation. Also his defender getting picked out of the play helps him a lot too.
Hes a good receiver but totally overrated

He looks like he runs his routes really slow. That might be part of the play but that just sticks out at me. Everytime I've watched him play.

I like his attitude, but not his skillset. He'll be a 3 WR here, and his skillset requires him to be out wide where he can use his physicality, not in the slot where there's cushion galore.

I agree. He plays the game like it should be played and shows up when needed.

Failing to pre-notify the recipient of a perfectly clean de-cleater doesn't make someone a dirty player.

I was actually going to post that video as a reason why I love the way he plays.

I don't need any kind of poll to tell me what I already know, Hines Ward is a tough guy, good player, good teammate, good blocker and is a dirty player.

I'd take his slow *** and great attitude over RW11 any day of the week and twice on Sundays.

I wouldn't. Roy was having a hell of a year before Tony went down.

Right, so tricking Reed into thinking he's engaging someone else and then hitting him in the chin as soon as he looks away isn't a cheap shot? And don't give me that it's in the rules of the game, keep your head on the swivel BS. Ward was setting him up, which isn't cheating, but it is dirty. Besides all this back and forth is irrelevant, he's been fined for late hits a couple of few times. How many receivers can you say that about? Plays hard, plays dirty.

You're kidding, right?

Maybe Ward is so cerebral that he knows that Reed is faster than No. 27 and moves to take Reed out instead.

You want a player who understands the game so intimately that he can think at the drop of a dime, "Hhhm, Reed is faster than the other guy and probably will get to my teammate quicker so I'll take out Reed."

Second, so peeling off your block to get another blocker is dirty?
Uh, we teach our blockers to do that all the time - at the middle school level. You hope that your guys can think that quickly to pick up the man who stands the greater chance of making the tackle.

Third, did Ward say he was setting up Reed? If so, where did he say this? Or are you making this up?

Sorry, buddy. This is football. You're allowed to peel off a block and get an opponent who may stand a greater chance of tackling your teammate. This isn't touch football.

I find it absolutely amazing that defensive players have the nerve to say Ward is dirty. :laugh2: The man is a gamer, PERIOD. He understands that football is a violent sport, and that offensive players can administer punishment too.

Oh, and for the record, Ward was fined primarily for late hits. Defensive players are fined for late hits frequently. So? That's part of the brutal nature of football. Sometimes, guys can't stop their momentum in time. All "late hits" aren't equal even if it's the same penalty call.

And who don't other receivers get fined for late hits? Maybe because they're not as physical in blocking as Reed is? Duh!

ME!?! You have just got to be trolling at this point. I thought your weekly threads lowered IQ's but this is a new standard for you.

This is a pretty good post.

He is tough and plays hard, but what his peers say about him speaks volumes.

They voted him as the dirtiest player.

One said he is the toughest player, .. when the other guy isn't looking.:D
