Well, trying to avoid going out and doing yard work in this heat, so I will post a little nonsense.

Hines Ward, I like him. Me, a hater of the Steelers. I am a "closet" fan of Dancing with the Stars. Love that show. A number of football players have gone on the show and have done quite well. Emmitt Smith actually was a winner one year -- I was not watching the show then. But I was when Warren Sapp was on, and got to tell you he was great.

I got to be a fan when my wife was watching, and I sat down and got hooked. I think maybe there is a "secret" dancer in me, but in reality I know I stink at it. Doesn't mean I don't want to be. Looks like a lot of fun to me.

So back to Hines. If you watch the show, this is one great guy. They did a little history of the dancer on one of shows. And what he has overcome and done with his life is pretty amazing. And his actions on the show, and how he has handled himself. I myself, am impressed.

Well, back to reality and some yard work. But I really think Hines Ward is one impressive guy. Guess I have to like one guy on the Steelers. Actually, I kind of liked Big Ben until his true self came to light.

So, for those of you "closet" watchers, do you give this guy a shot at the finals??

I hate Hines Ward, and his stupid smile, with a passion.

OK, but did you see the "clip" on him??? I felt the same way until I watched the show and got to know a little more about him.

Yes, I really am a hater of the Steelers, the whole nonsense with that team. History, players, name it, but you know, you have to give the guy his due.

I will never be a fan of the Steelers, but I am going to make an exception with this guy. His mother was Korean, his father was black. Born in Korea. And because there was so much prejudice against him, his mother moved to the USA without anyone. And she worked 2,3 jobs to help him. And he was made fun of in school -- and didn't fit in anywhere. But his mother gave him encouragement, and he took advantage of it and worked hard and made something of himself. Yep, I am impressed.

And how he has handled himself on the show. It is an emotional show as well, and you get a "feel" for the person dancing. Just me, I am impressed.

OK, got to do some yard work. I know it is all nonsense, but fun nonsense.

I hate that he's a Stealer and that he throws some cheap shot blocks but other than that I have no reason to dislike him.

One of the most dirty players in the league and he is a Stealer. Nothing to like there.

OK, guess I don't have any converts here. Or maybe no one watches the show and knows what I am talking about. I understand a little more about why he played a little "over the top" during his career. And of course playing for the Steelers, it would be a good fit.

Me personally, I will watch with interest on Monday -- the finals. The guy actually has a shot at winning -- although to me he is second best. But the fans of the show have 50% of a say in who will win. And in terms of fan support, he does have it. Probably every Steeler fan is voting. It will not bother me if he wins because he is good.

BTW, where oh where is our football contract -- sigh.

lol nice post. I wanna find this clip that you are talking about. did he say why he got bullied?

I do not watch DWTS for several reasons. But my wife does. I told her when the season started Hines would make it to the finals. Based on what I have read the last couple of weeks, I'll be shocked if he doesn't win it all.

There's nothing to like about Hines Ward.

I still hate him. Dancing with the stars? No....I'm not "rainbow" enough to watch that show.

I'm actually a fan of him as a player. Tough, physical. I like him. I hate that he plays for the friggen Steelers.

I've never seen that show, but I have nothing but respect for Hines Ward. All the talk of dirty is nonsense to me. He plays the game hard. I'd love to have him on Dallas.

He does play the game hard and gives 110%. Other then that tho his receiving skills are merely average. If it wasnt for him running crossing routes or his defender getting picked when they line up in a trips formation the guy would never be open.

BINGO!

Dude's a hell of a player.

There was that thread a while back where someone said he was dirty because of how he hit Ed Reed straight on. That hit is exactly why I like the guy.

Congratulations, you have won the honorary award of the  :post:

If that was for me I'm perfectly fine with that.

The fact is the guy plays tough and physical and he's a heck of a player because of it. I'm not ashamed to admit that.

I'd take him on my team any day of the week and twice on game days.

Dirtiest NFL player: Steelers' Ward

Wednesday November 4, 2009

Hines Ward is the dirtiest player in the NFL, according to a Sports Illustrated poll of 296 players released this week.

Top 25 Dirtiest NFL Players of 2010

3. Hines Ward

Seen here staggering off the field after getting a little taste of his own medicine, Hines Ward is infamous throughout the league as being a cheap-shot artist who has taken more than one player out of the game.

While Steelers fans will defend the guy to the ends of the Earth, the facts are that Ward always has taken vicious shots at guys in questionable situations, is known for making crack-back blocks, and his jaw-breaking tackle of Keith Rivers resulted in a rule change.

Steelers fans will cry and moan that many of these hits didn't draw flags. I will point out that the league called the refs on the carpet this year for not throwing flags for hits like the ones Ward and other players on this list made.

I hate quoting Bleacher's crap but still. There are other articles to be found that all basically say the same thing. On this issue I just don't agree with you Hos.
