Hines Ward

There are other articles to be found that all basically say the same thing. On this issue I just don't agree with you Hos.
I am fine with disagreement. I just think if he is dirty then the game has really cleaned up. When I think of a dirty player I think of Conrad Dobler and what Hines Ward does wouldn't make a pimple on Dobler's backside for dirty.

I won't disagree with that. But that was a different era and different game in those days with players like Dobler. By modern days standards Hines, IMO, is near the top of the leaderboard.

Guess my "nonsense" thread got some thoughts going.

I would go with the "dirty" player -- until I watched him on DWTS. When he started on the show, wanted him booted in the first few weeks. But for those that don't watch, you really get a good feel for the person over time -- I really don't know how many weeks it goes -- around 8 I think.

Well, saw his BIO on the show, and watched how he handled himself on the show. The BIO on the show basically told his story and how he and his mother really had to overcome -- not just racism, but poverty.

I actually found that clip -- here it is -- pretty interesting.

And people don't realize just how hard that show is on the dancers - or how difficult real dancing is. Maybe I am a "wannabe" dancer, but in reality I really don't have much artistic talent. Tried to play the guitar when I was younger and took lessons for 3 years -- and stunk at that too. Guess you have to know your limitations. I was born with a lot of talents -- but not artistic. Doesn't mean I wouldn't like a few.

He does play the game hard and gives 110%. Other then that tho his receiving skills are merely average. If it wasnt for him running crossing routes or his defender getting picked when they line up in a trips formation the guy would never be open.

These kinds of posts always crack me up. Do crossing routes and plays where the defender gets picked really account for almost 12,000 yards receiving?

In his world apparently so.

And how is Hines laying a perfectly good, solid, bonecrushing hit on a defender dirty, because the defender doesn't see it coming, but the same types of hits on a QB or a WR from said defender would be cheered as doing their job?

The dude isn't spearing anyone. He's not clipping anyone. He's hitting them, hard, on a block. I don't see the issue with this.

I started this thread and guess will close it.

As an update, Hines Ward actually did win last night. Not really fair because he was not the best, but I think Steeler fans won the day. Guess that is what happened when Emmitt Smith won as well -- Cowboy Nation hit the phone lines. Was not watching the show then - just the last two. What is interesting is that Kirstie Alley came in second -- and the best of the lot (Chelsea Kane) came in third. Just have to say Kirstie Alley is amazing. At 60 to have gone so far -- VERY physically demanding. And also have to say she is one very sexy lady - yep, at 60. So, most of you don't care, but wanted to finish what I started -- this thread.

Bad news is, almost every show I watch now are repeats, or not on. September normally brings football and another really good show I watch called Dexter. More and more I really don't think we are going to have a normal football season. I look everyday on the Internet for some update -- and all I hear is silence. It is June next week.

This stinks. They have to refund what I paid for my season tickets if there is no football. Man, that is going to hurt the owners. This whole situation is ridiculous. I understand the position of the players, and really don't understand the whole thing. The biggest problem I have is this thought of extending the number of games played. The owners want to be greedy, yet they are willing to give up EVERY THING. Get it DONE.:bang2:
