ugh, every time this thread type gets started it is always the same thing, the anti rap crowd chimes in saying it is spelled crap, the 27-35 year old crowd says everything they listened to when they were young is the best and now everything sucks and then name all the artist that no longer make music or are irrelevant. there were plenty of crappy songs and artists played regularly you just dont remember them because they fell by the way side just as the crap comes out now will as well.

i know what you mean, but i am one of the people that feel that way. the best that this generation has to offer cant compare to those in the past. I'm sure it comes off as old people thinking theirs is better but its not hard to see that in fact 2000 to present day rap pales in comparison to both earlier decades.

Like now we have wayne, wiz, lupe, cole, budden, nikki minaj, drake, gucci, waka, kid cudi.

then we had pac, big, nas, x, bone, outkast, wu tang

in my opinion there is no question which groups dominates. compare the hits, compare the content. lyrically its not even a competition.

I know Havoc been saving those fire beats for him, wonder if they still signed to the G-unit team. Will be good to hear new music from him tho, been too long.

i agree for the most part but rap has evolved, and so has the culture and target audience. you will never be able to get the same lyrical quality when musicians are trying to appeal to 13 year old white kids from the suburbs who have the money to buy their music. but it doesn't mean that some people are still putting out quality songs that will end up just as classic as songs from back when.

i do admit that as long as songs like toot it and boot are played 4 times an hour on the radio that people will have a legit beef with music today

Thats sick. I've seen him twice at the Avalon. Wasn't the best place for a concert because it was wayyyy too crowded. Also, don't expect him to show up on time. Both times he was sposed to show up at around 11, but he ended up starting at 1.

Dude really has an awesome combination of flows, creativity, and beats.

This kid Tyler is about to blow up

Look up the video 'Yonkers'
Ok who is this Tyler dude.

I was on twitter one night when questlove retweeted him and Pusha T (who Im barely aware of) connecting.

I didn't follow him, cuz he really doesn't tweet anything interesting.

But what's his flavor.

Edit: didn't like the Yonkers song. But I did watch his performance on Jimmy Fallon. Not bad, but I need to hear more.

Tyler the Creator is the leader of a rap crew named OFWGKTA which stands for Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All. They're from L.A and there kind of like a new Wu-Tang Clan. Their style of rapping is really raw and meant to shock you, or thats what they try to do.

I saw the video the other day when it was tweeted by Kanye West and then Neal Brennan(the co-creator of Chappelles Show, good follow).

What I like is that hes clearly trying to stay away from boring rhyme schemes.

What I dont like is he might be one of those guys who has too many friends w/ him and wont know who to keep out of a song and when to turn down a friend w/ a lame beat

I totally forgot about the guys from H-town. I'm a big fan of their music but I heard that they have beef with Mike Jones now :(
