History may have repeated itself

What has he done since then?

He went 8-8 in the worst division in football his last full season, went 1-3 before his injury, and only has his lone playoff win thanks to Cooper being traded....but we'll always have his rookie season to justify his being paid like a Super Bowl QB.

22.5 million dollar cap hit this season. I’ve repeated this to you on numerous occasions. The FO wouldn’t improve the team regardless if Dak is making 700k or a billion. They don’t believe in free agency. Regardless of moneyZ
:hammer:

Okay Frederick was a center.. How about all the pundits that tried to tell us that Josh Rosen was going to be the best QB in HIS draft class.. ?

I know. If they got it right consistently all hall of famers would be first round picks.

I really like both players, but I don't think they fell. Parsons was right there. Ranked right around our pick. We picked Joseph with the 44th pick. The board I was looking at had him ranked 68th. I know boards vary, but I doubt it would vary that much.

Possibly he was ranked 68th due to the supposedly character issues. If not for that, he could have been ranked as a 1st rounder, possibly top 20.
Diggs, last year was ranked as a top 20 player. Many had us taking him in the 1st round. However he slipped. We still got him.

Both drafts worked, rather one thinks it was luck or just good drafting or a bit of both.
I don't care how or why, just that we got 4 very good players and all starters with our 1st 2 picks in the last 2 drafts. That is a win no matter how it came about.

1 player? Check out the film on the UCLA guy and the free agent we got from the Bears.

Those are rotational backups.

Point is: He is a LB who needs a clear running lane. If you dont have a very strong DL he wont make a difference. And we dont have a strong DL, heck we dont even have an average DL.

Average or close to average makes this team a winner.

I tried to keep it all from nfl.com and didn't feel like searching for 3 hours.

In any case, I don't think it is even remotely controversial to say that the "experts" were WAY WRONG about Fredbeard.
:flagwave:

I cant remember that any expert said that Fredricks wasnt the clear #1 center in this draft. And nobody ever questioned his potential.
The only thing that was questioned is wether it is wise to draft a center that high.

And btw i dont consider Bucky Brooks an expert right now. He is an trash talker.
He may have an high Football IQ but right now he is in the business of an "media idiot" and he seems to give his all to fullfill this cliche.

The Cowboys lucked out when they got Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb. They might have just lucked out again by getting Parsons and Joseph. They were not going to take these players and they ended up falling to them,
I'm confused. Not hard to do quite frankly.

But......if they weren't going to draft them......how did they fall to Dallas?

What was Dak doing when he went 13 and 3 as a rookie?
Please take off the rose colored glasses, Dak was good that year but 13-3 was not due to superior QB play , it was a combo of OL, Zeke and good play from Dak, especially the INT front ( taking care of the ball)

Trust me , I like Dak and his intangibles to put us in a winning position but don’t mistake him for Brady, Peyton or Rodgers kind of player.

Kind of my point. Just because "experts" say that a specific player/position should not be drafted so high does not mean they are right. And just because a team drafts someone that is not expected to be drafted that high, it does not automatically mean they are right either.

So until these players get on the field to prove what they got, getting all excited (positively or negatively) over where a person "should have" been drafted is irrelevant.

I think you got me wrong. I literally couldn't care less about Bucky Brooks or any other "expert" out there. They are ALL just, as you so eloquently put it, "media idiots" or mediots.

They all act like they are infallible and basically have the luxury of "paper trading" in the NFL Draft without risking anything real in the process.

In that regards, I give Mike Mayock at least a little credit when he took the Raiders GM job. I'm not impressed with his job as their GM so far, but he is doing it for real now and not able to just easily sweep his terrible picks under the radar because he is just another mediot.

They fell to Dallas because that is the way the draft fell. Denver could have easily taken a different player at 9 and the Cowboys would have probably taken Surtain. If that would have happened they wouldn't have gotten Parsons or Joesph. The luck may be that Parsons and Joesph work out to be very good players.

Oh yeah, they really lucked out with Dak. Too bad Dak didn't think trying to win super bowls was important until AFTER he got paid, though.

Man plays for rookie contract Check. Time to get paid team is slow to pay him Check. Gambled on himself and He won Check.
There's something wrong with him ............ Got it
