I was more annoyed that we let 9 or 10 seconds run off at the end of the half after the Dak fumble and took a timeout into the locker room...I think we could have at least called timeout, thrown an out to the sideline and tried to get Bailey on for a long FG...I thought for sure we were going to get points there and swing momentum back our way...

At the time that this happened, I couldn't help but feel like the Hitchens facemask was the equivalent of the Switzer fumble against the Rams. Huge swing of momentum allowing the opponent to get off the ropes and right back into the game.

The roughing the passer was the bigger one IMO, because that was just asking for a penalty and stupid. Hitchens was just part of a tackle where his hand got in the wrong place.

Rewatching the game (Why I don't know), but just over a minute to go in the first half: We have pretty much dominated outside of GB's first drive; we controlled TOP; we held them to six points; we have sacked ARod three times; we are about to have them in a third and long and bam a 15 yard facemask call on Hitchens leading to a TD. This kind of thing happens too often.
mr links18.....i was so pissed after watching Hitchens do that i turned off tv rest of the game cause i got this horrible feeling we woke up the sleeping Giant when Hitchens stupidly did that...made me so mad...later when i went to cowboys.com well after the game was over and i see the score...i flew into my usual rage and broke things and kicked holes in the wall....those kind of stupid shoot yourself in the foot plays are suicidal

mr Iheart---i 100% agree with that..i felt same way..in fact when Hitchens shot us in the foot with that stupid play i turned off tv...and waited till

game was over before checking the score...cause the mixture of my rage and anxiety makes it very difficult to watch the game and i then usually

watch it on gamepass later...you cant give Rogers second chances..he will crucify us...i would have been like 3rd and 16 with us leading 21-6

and good chance we make stop...get ball back maybe even pad lead?....and i am so tired of post game reports of how good we play and crap

like that...we need a coach like Parcells or Jimmy to put fear back into players not to do stupid things

Said it yesterday in Chat. If you want to point to one single thing, and believe me there were several things that cost us the game, but if you want just one thing it's the Williams INT. Not the Dak INT because that turnover was on Williams 100%, that's 7 points without doing a damn thing for it. Even if you do nothing else but drop the pass, you are able to run more plays and take time off the clock and that, in itself probably wins the game. You just can't have that kind of mistake.

Yeah. That was a tough one. Although I’d say the Mayowa penalty was bigger. The tough part of the Hitchens play is the offensive player lowered his head into Hitch’s arm level and in effect created the contact that led to the face mask. Frankly I think Hitchens made some horrible plays yesterday (esp losing responsibility on spying AR on his 3rd and 8 scramble at the end) but I chalked that face mask up to a tough break more than a mental breakdown of some sort. My two cents.

It’s what happens when you’re talent deprived. Our defense has been doing that stuff for years. The mayowa roughing the passer was the cherry on top.

I understand a bit what Periera was saying about the Mayowa hit but Mayowa has to be smarter than that. He ran in leading with his helmet.

Just not smart. I am getting the impression he's not the sharpest knife in the drawer. After being benched before for losing containment, he still continues to do it.

I agree that it wasn't smart for him to go head first, but that was a weak call nonetheless, compounded by the BS about "in the grasp" etc. But sure enough, that play is followed up with a huge run by Jones. It seems like we just get killed on these 15 yard back breakers. To be fair, the refs gave one to the Packers too on the first drive, but its just far to often that a Dallas Cowboys game is changed for the worse by a questionable 15 yarder.

This was heartbreaking. Against a guy like Arod.. he makes you pay DEARLY for any mistake. When there is a play to be made, you must make it. Such a bad penalty. The BS roughing when DLaw had him in the grasp was DEVASTATING as well. We're looking at 2 or 3rd and a mile from their 2 yard line. Of course, they went on to score that drive.

It for sure was the turning point in the game. After that, everything went downhill. Though we almost pulled it off but of course we didn't.

This is our lack of killer instinct playing out at a team level. We always do something to keep games close.

He didn't look like he was pulling it. But I don't remember what the actual rule is at this point.

If you grab and release, basically you accidently grabbed the facemask and realized it and let go, then that used to be a five yard penalty but it is nothing nowdays.

However, if you grab the facemask and either don't let go or you twist the helmet, its 15. Unfortunately, Hitchens did grab the facemask and the head appears to twist as a result.

Hate to credit that piss poor officiating crew for anything, but it was a legit and good call in my opinion. Now the roughing call, don't even get me started on that rape job.

Hitchens was bad and most of that is due to lack of playing... He will bounce back.

Tell me you haven't really fallen for Risen's obvious nonsense about Hitchens not being a decent football player?

He is not good enough, hardly anybody on this defense is. We are 29th in points allowed and lost back to back home games scoring 30+ points. And lets be blatantly honest here, that bone headed pass on 2nd down was a monumental mistake. There was nobody in that stadium or watching on TV that didn't think Rogers with a 1:12 was going to go right down the field and score.

Like Nick Eatman said on The Break, when your defense is so bad that you cannot trust them to stop a team from going 75 yards in a min, that means there were serious mistakes made back in April in regards to this defense. Pretty much everybody on The Break, people on the Cowboy's payroll, pretty much all said it was beyond stupid to put this defense on the field to stop Rogers and instead should have milked the clock. That is not just what idiot fans like me are saying, that is what the Cowboy employees are saying.........not milking the clock and putting the game on the defense was a monumental botch.
