It was a killer, though.

They need to bring back the 5 yard facemask penalty. Those 15 yards were just brutal.

We got all the breaks last year, this year we are getting none. The world is rebalancing.

Well, I thought they rewrote that rule and ones like that should not be called at all. Maybe I am wrong, but they did away with the 5 yard and they were only supposed to call the pers. foul ones and that , to me, did not qualify as a personal foul.

He didn't look like he was pulling it. But I don't remember what the actual rule is at this point.

I thought the rule was if the facemask is pulled/jerked it was 15. The ones that are 5 yds no longer are called.

Maybe ARod converts the third and long, maybe not, but forcing a FG attempt there with shaky Crosby instead of giving up six would have been huge.

I think that should have been an incidental one. His head came down a little bit but it was not a twist turn or pull, just downward motion on the tackle.

At the time that this happened, I couldn't help but feel like the Hitchens facemask was the equivalent of the Switzer fumble against the Rams. Huge swing of momentum allowing the opponent to get off the ropes and right back into the game.
