Quick question right now. Cant find answer on this.

How soon can Cowboys lock up home field advantage throughout playoffs? Giants loss this weekend and loss against Cowboys and we win game against Bucs?

I'm not 100% sure but I think back to back losses for Seattle + back to back wins for Dallas would do the job.

Heck 1 loss for Seattle and back to back wins for us may do it. I'm not entirely sure though.

Seattle is currently sitting on 3.5 losses.

For the fastest way of locking up the division and home field advantage,
we would need the following to happen this sunday:

Saints over the Lions
Chiefs over the Falcons
Panthers over the Seahawks
Steelers over the Giants

Then if we beat the Giants next Sunday night

We would have home field advantage at the end of next Sunday Night

A combination of 2 more Dallas wins or Seattle/Giants losses clinches it. If the Giants lose this week and Cowboys win next week it clinches the division. A playoff spot is secured with a Washington or Tampa Bay loss this week.

Edit: the hfa is only if the Giants don't win out. If they win out, they have the tiebreaker so Dallas would need 3 more wins.

That is actually a very possible scenario.

Exactly
and essentially we just need the ginats to lose this week and next week to us
and for the lions, falcons, and seahawks to lose either this week or next (doesnt matter which)
before our sunday night showdown with giants
and we can then clinch HFA by beating the giants

Dallas just has to go 2-2 with one of those two wins over NY and HFA is ours. That is as simple as it gets :D

Interesting. but it comes sooner if those teams (panthers, steelers, chiefs and saints) win this weekend and we win against NY right? it looks like..

Thanks all for replying. making a bit more sense now.

This, but if even one of those things don't happen we can't clinch against the Giants next week. Most likely it was take until Week 14. We aclually if those teams that need to lose do so in Week 13 instead of 12 we still can.

All of those are going to happen this weekend. Bet heavy.

Wrong. Atlanta, Detriot, AND Washington only have four losses so they could win out and and jump us if we lose out. Tampa can also jump us if we lose out and they win out because H2H. Seattle can also still lose two games and jump us if we lose out.

Seahawks lose this week and we beat Giants next week and we're probably about 99% favored to get HF.

It just means in the last three games we either have to win one or they have to lose one. Pretty simple no?

Kind of amazing that we could miss the playoffs at 11-5.

We need to go 2-2 and finish at 13-3

If we do that, all we need is just one single loss by the Giants over their last 5 games........the loss doesn't even have to be to us...........just one single loss

Then we clinch homefield.

Two wins or a win and a loss by the Seahawks ensures we are ahead of them. A loss by the Giants to the Steelers and a win by us against the Giants means homefield. Basically, two wins and we have home field.
