Dell's kick *** also :D

I will never own another Dell in my life.

Bought the Inspiron 5150 Laptop about 5 years ago and within 2 years the hard drive crashed, DVD rom went out and the monitor went out. I basically turned that thing into a desktop and swore off Dell for good.

At the same time, 2 friends of mine bought almost identical laptops. One had his go to crap about a year after he bought it and the other barely lasted 3 years.

That's not even the worst story I've been directly involved with. One of my roommates bought a Dell because he liked mine (about 6 months old at this time) and he has had all the same problems. His power brick went bad and Dell tried to tell him it was his motherboard and they wanted him to pay $400 for the fix. We actually figured out it was his power brick after they returned the computer supposedly fixed and the problem was still occurring. I took my brick to his computer and everything worked fine. That was about 3 years ago. This spring, his motherboard did go bad.

I really believe that Dell puts out a crappy product in order to charge out the butt for repairs and new computers.

If I ever see Michael Dell, I'll probably go to jail.

Inspirons are bad I'll give you that. Like I have said before I only buy the business class machines. The latitude and optiplex lines are great. I rarely have problems with them that aren't caused by the user. I had a user that thought he had shut his latitude off when he put it in his bag. When he pulled it out it had gotten so hot it fried the hard drive, the motherboard, the screen. and warped the plastic case. I called Dell and the next day they came out with all the parts to fix it. With Dell it's all in the warranty. I buy 3 year warranties with accidental coverage. I have yet to have them tell me something isn't covered during those three years. You have to know how to work their system.
