Homicide in night club fight

hmm i don't get it exactly, Hamlin obviously got clocked with likely a foreign object but the other guy ended up dead. Hamlin couldn't have killed the guy since he got his skull rocked.
Its only circumstantial that the other guy ended up dead but a little more than suspicious...
Someone else was probably involved on Hamlin's side but who? He couldn't have had anyone else there except for his g/f and/or a teammate....
interesting case...
and the event was darwinian in nature, the most idiotic reason to fight I've ever heard. Nothing good happens after midnight. Only reinforces my resolve to avoid those places altogether.

My guess is that there were two of them and Hamlin went after them, caught them and was beating the one who died when the other hit him on the head with a traffic sign or other foreign object. Doesn't seem entirely unlikely. Hamlin could be in real trouble with the law as well as injured.

Fighting is usually someone doing something he shouldn't and someone else overreacting. The other guy should not have reacted the way he did to the hand on the back and Hamlin shouldn't have overreacted the way he did. He had plenty of time to calm down but just kept getting madder - that's his fault for not exerting whatever willpower it took to overcome his anger and settle down. Sounds like he had other problems on his mind and this was just the catalist that caused the explosive decompression.

Wasn't the guy stabbed to death?

You'd think there would be blood evidence GALORE if Hamlin did it?

I agree - bar scene at 2 and 3:00 AM is just asking for trouble. Especially if you are an NFL player. Not that it makes a huge difference, but Hamlin is not a victim here. He instigated, threw first punch and chased the guys. Club bouncers where trying to keep Hamlen away from guys by all accounts. Its on tape.

...sure Davis could have given him the 411 on that deal.

Mmm...bed by 11:00 P.M. or out till 2:00 A.M. at some club with my girlfriend. What would my momma, agent and coach want? Mmmm....

Your momma, agent, and coach aren't giving up the ****y are they?

Bad for Hamlin, but perfect case study for Parcells' point to our guys about staying away from nightclubs, strip joints, etc. As Keith Davis attests...nothing good is going to find you at those places as a NFL athlete.

If I recall correctly, Hamlin had some "character" issues coming out of Arkansas.

Just like my dad used to say .. nothing but bad things happen at 2 a.m.

I think he means at a bar.

I can think of plenty of good things that can happen at 2AM. :shades:

ah this is confusing...

So the football player fought some dude and later on that day that "dude" was found dead?

someone just break it down for me please.

Yes.

What is unclear is was it the guy that put a hurtin on Hamlin. Seems like there was a bunch of guys that were fighting.

If they dont find any evidence to link Hamlin to the crime, they will not have a strong case based on the fact that alot of people were fighting with each other during that particular incident.

dang that's some harsh stuff....

Hmm...let me think about this one...

1) Football player is at a bar.

2) Football player gets into scuffle at a bar.

3) It is 2AM.

4) One of the people the football player was fighting with is found dead.

5) Football player is in the ICU.

Aside from number 5 above, I think I have seen this movie before. This is starting to smell more like a repeat of the Ray Lewis incident in Atlanta about 6 years ago.

Geesh! Don't these morons know that only bad things can happen at bars at 2AM when everyone in the place has sufficiently fulfilled their desire for liquor?

I think the coaches and organizations in the NFL need to take a more active role in helping the players get their heads out of their arses.
