I mean, cmon. Who's the franchise QB?

The chick knows it too. Which is why she's practically attached to his hip.

unless that is his longtime girlfriend...she wishes. Carson pretty grounded young man. Its still fairly common in N.Dak..........old school.

Jared Goff, QB, Cal

He has ideal height and appears to have the frame to add bulk, but Goff's measurements will give scouts a better idea of his growth potential. Goff is not only lean, he also fumbled the ball 23 times in college so his official hand size will be interesting - teams will be hoping he hits the 9 1/8-inch threshold.

Take the qb, he becomes your franchise guy and the rest of the draft can flop. Grade A

I agree about the QB, but not about the rest of the draft.

This team needs all the help it can get, so they'd better not fail with the rest of the draft.

Does the talent at the top of this draft appear underwhelming this year because we are picking at #4, and expect so much out of the pick, or is the top of the draft underwhelming this year?

Personally, I think the year we drafted Tyron Smith there were about 10 guys that would be drafted before anyone out of the upcoming draft if they were in this draft.

This post is made every single year (not by you but someone)
Talent at the top is just fine
Good FOs will find it

Evaluate the talent and make the pick

Goff is listed at 6,4 and 215 and Wentz at just over 6,5 and 235 but from this picture there seems to be a lot bigger difference :omg:

Was my 1st impression also.....have to say after weigh in etc at Senior Bowl--Wentz's is verified. I'm sure NFL waiting for Combine on Goff.

I was kind of kidding about the rest of the draft, but a true franchise QB can win you a lot of games for a lot of years.

Well, not exactly this point, but something like it. The problem is that this draft looks a lot more like the 2009 draft than the Tyron Smith draft class. Not getting a good player in the first round is bad. Not getting a good player at #4 is a back breaker because of the cap. You can swing and miss at #20, but not at #4 overall.

Do any of you see anyone in this class that you think are as good as JJ Watt or Tyron Smith (excluding QB). If the top 3 signal callers don't grade out this might be a very weak class overall.

No one had any idea Watt would be half as good as he has been

Smith was a guy playing right tackle, very raw, lots of question marks

There are questions every year but the good GMs are able to separate the wheat from the chaff

Actually, that's not entirely accurate. The Cowboys' staff was very high on J.J. Watt. In fact they were so high on Watt that there was considerable debate about whether to select him over Tyron Smith, who played a position which was in dire need of upgrading at the time. Both players were deemed to be can't miss blue chippers at the time, which is saying at lot since they both went outside the top 5 picks.

Right now, outside the QBs no one seems to carry the grade that Smith or Watt had in this entire class.
