Hope for 2025 rebuild

Any rebuild they do has to start at DT or it is going to be more of the same in my opinion.

You can't have a small DE like MP surrounded by garbage, they have to stop the run.
Yes, but we've shown our inability to evaluate the position and will need two as Osa's not coming back.

As a lifelong Cowboys fan, I always have some hope, even in the dark days we have now. For me, the only fun left in the 2024 season now is hopefully seeing some of our young players develop and how good our draft position will be for 2025.

Obviously we are stuck with JJ for the immediate future. But because of a bunch of expiring contracts ending this year, this team will have some serious cap space compared to prior seasons and the opportunity for a real rebuild will be there. A new HC, new coordinators, and a bunch of new faces will be in place next year, so at least we will see lots of changes. The opportunity for a fresh start is there in such a way, even a blind squirrel like Jerry may find a nut.

I am working on a 2025 rebuild post I will share tomorrow. There are multiple ways a rebuild can go. I hope our rebuild is aggressive and includes getting everything and everyone in place early; no more of this waiting until the last minute.

2025 is an opportunity for a bunch of change.
Jerry will be all in!

Yea, I have kind of moved on to 2025 already. There is a new head coach, free agency, and the draft. For the rest of the season, I will watch games through different lenses ( win/loss doesn't matter ).

Sorry to be thay guy, but there is no hope.
No Hope is bad for business so they gotta do their thing which is understood and accepted.
P.S. But you're correct there is NO Hope with the current cast of overrated JAGS.

I’d guess RB1, RG1, RT1, LB1, and WR2 are gonna need help.

Maybe Mingo can help with WR2….

would lIke to see their big board at the Star.
The real board I want to see is the coaching board and the management board. What changes and names in the first category, but more important will there be changes in the second category.

I think this is the only same position to take. There is going to be more head shaking moments in the 2024 that will only lead to ulcers. An eye on 2025 and talent evaluation will keep teh emotions at bay and not make a Cowboys fan go crazy.

Please do a last minute critique/review before posting...and remove any ridiculous suggestions of unrealistic, pro-dallas trades that only work in Jerry's mind.

If the sentence begins with "trade Dak for...." just remove it.

If Bill Bellicheat's name is involved...just remove it.

Let's always keep in mind that the OTHER team will only make trades that make sense to THEM, not us (and they have REAL gms doing the negiations), and also, potential coaches have to WANT to come here and surrender power to Jerruh, thus eliminating the Bellicheat's of the world.

Also...when saying "in the 1st round, we need to draft..." please mention an actual player's name, vs the lame "we need to draft an all-pro defensive tackle"

Thank you in advance

Draft is going to be very interesting. Especially if we slide into the top 5.

Don't hold your breath. Jerry has his formula. He will sign a mid level coach to a 4 years deal. None of the top coaches are stupid to come here. Jerry and Cowboys now have a reputation.

And he will make one biggish FA signing on DL to say hey we are committed. Sign Parsons because he is top 10 in jersey sales.

He will focus on draft given two bad drafts in a row and he will sell this years rookie crop as improving.

No big changes coming.

No question. I have always treated losing seasons this way. It certainly reduces the stress of losing, at least for me.

That’s certainly a distinct possibility.

There is no rebuild coming. They just signed dak to a 260 million dollar deal, parsons is getting his next, Ceedee got is. If there was a rebuild coming dak wouldn’t have been signed.

Ah, The illusion of “change” while standing in place

That is a Jerry Jones specialty

i don't want our current gm touching anything except his resignation letter.
he does not know how to build anything other than a occasional division champ and wild-card winner.

If you think the morons in the front office can do a rebuild you need your head examined!
