Looking at adjusted passing yards per attempt in the last two seasons.

Ryan: 26th in 2011, 29th in 2012
Horton: 15th in 2011, 3rd in 2012

This would be a fantastic upgrade.

I'm NOT a Ryan apologist or fan..but the Cards have better players guys: specifically they have a really good dline. They also didn't look like a MASH unit this year like we did either...just sayin'

Horton had better talent to work with too.

I prefer both Horton and Smith >> Ryan. Never really had much against Ryan, but those two are stars as far as I'm concerned.

And yes, defensive turnovers are a huge stat.
Short fields and free points can win you a bunch of games.

Horton is one of the best DC in the business, without a doubt.

Dallas needs a playmaking safety... I thought Church was becoming that before the Achilles injury.

I like church but we need to draft a guy because sensabaugh is trash. Telling you guys Matt Elam would be so great for us it's not even funny.

In the red corner

Calais Campbell and Darnell Dockett

vs

in the blue corner

Kenyon Coleman and Sean Lissemore

ding ding round 1

Ryan had Demarcus Ware and Anthony Spencer.

You know what my favorite part of this cherry-picked comparison is? No, it's not where you cherry-pick a position where the players are better (instead of a comparison that includes higher impact OLB positions where we dominate), it's where you choose to compare the players with the most and second most snaps at defensive end from the Cardinals with the players who played from the Cowboys who played the 3rd and 5th most snaps at the same position this season.

Makes it tougher to play defense when you are seldom, if ever, ahead.

Makes it tougher to play offense when you are seldom ahead.

Is that #22 for Florida?

That Elam was a hitter, ... don't know about what kind of total safety he is, but everyone on offense will want to know where he is before the play, because he brings the wood big time.

If you are going starter for starter at DE, then it would be Campbell/Dockett vs. Coleman/Hatcher. Sure, the Cards still come out on top because of the Campbell vs. Coleman part. But, Hatcher vs. Dockett has actually been at least a draw (Hatch actually has more sacks, while tackles favor Dockett). And, I have a sneaking suspicion that, if Horton came here and they keep the 3-4, that Rat now becomes a DE. Horton and LeBeau favor that fat, fire-hydrant NT commanding double teams to free up the MLBers.

ryan doesnt have much of a resume honestly. he had a few good performances but other than that.

AZ has a better defensive core imo

Dockett/Campbell up front
Stud MLB Daryl Washington
2 very good safeties in Rhodes/Wilson

Stats are just that.

But that stat is HUGE.

How significant is plain luck in turnovers? Examples: bobbled passes being intercepted, fumbles bouncing around toward or away from defenders, QBs not seeing the defensive backs and throwing it right to them.
