The Julius Peppers thread reminded me of a post (i believe it was you who started it, tell me if im wrong) that mentioned that there was a marquee defensive lineman who was going to be a free agent this off-season and wanted to come to dallas. You never mentioned who that player was but many people on the board were guessing Peppers and many others were guessing Haynesworth. Any updates? Hopefully it was you who started that thread or Ill look a bit foolish - but ill take my chances since im so intrigued.

It was not me, it was Mark Mosely in his ESPN blog actually, and via e-mail he did confirm Peppers is interested in coming here. He mentioend 2 D-linemen. One as a 3-4 DT and the other as a 4-3 DE who would weclome a switch to the 3-4. Peppers as the 2nd. I forget who the 1st was.

That's kind of a big deal about the DT, Hos. You really don't remember?

I want to say it was Casey Hampton because of his Texas roots.

Now THAT I would love. I really think that's a big spot where the D is lacking. Let's move Ratliff and let him do what he does best.

And then, I could swear it was ,mickey, did a write up on the story were he used the words........"to die for" regarding Peppers. This was before Peppers name was actually released as the player in question, but by that time we had all already pretty much figured out who it was anyhow.

I didn't save the e-mail, but I'm pretty sure it was Mosely. Could be wrong though. Peppers I am not wrong about.

..............No, you are 100% RIGHT Hos. Mosely originally said it, just as you have stated. All im saying is that LATER, after Mosely said it, I seem to remember mickey talking about it too, where he used the words 'to die for"

Believe it or not I could almost swear the other Lineman was Warren Sapp. He did play last season"07" for the Raiders. I seem to remember Mosely talking about one guy being in his prime "Peppers' and the other guy being near the end. I could be wrong though.

Move him to end to pass rush against tackles? I'm not so sure I like the idea of moving him to end. He hasn't shown me anything to say that he can go up against the league's best pass protectors (tackles) and be productive. I'd be very skeptical about that move.

Man if there was any shot, at all, of getting Peppers here and still keeping D-Ware under contract I'd do back flips.
