Move him to end to pass rush against tackles? I'm not so sure I like the idea of moving him to end. He hasn't shown me anything to say that he can go up against the league's best pass protectors (tackles) and be productive. I'd be very skeptical about that move.
Ware/Spencer are the ones going against the tackles, not him.

He'd still line up inside on the nickel packages.

We would have to ask our resident capologist, but im betting by dumping Thomas, Ellis, and Roy 38, and not resigning Canty, we would have enuff room to sign Peppers, Scott, Jimmy Leonhard, and a viable backup QB. Plus still conduct our draft.

I know...but he would be doing the same exact thing that Spears does now...battling against tackles on 1st and 2nd for the most part. I think he had a bunch of pressures this year coming from DT in the 3-4 as compared to nickel or dime. I don't know the numbers but I don't think there was much of a difference.

He also got some pressure when rotating with Spears at the LE spot.

He can do it, I have no doubt.

I lack your confidence but I'll take your word for it :laugh2:

I would have to look back at all his pressures to make a decision...and I don't have the time or the memory on my computer to do that

I LOVE having Ratliff at nosetackle, as long as we can bring in a rookie with some Bulk to spell him in the running game. Either one of the 2 Boston college N.T's will do. Raji or Brace. We stand alot better chance at Brace though considering our draft slot. I like Rat at the nose because he gets that QUICK PRESSURE up the gut in the passing game, or the quick penetration up the gut against the run. Inside passrush is VERY important to my way of thinking. Its the shortest distance between the d line and QB. Plus he has a way of flushing a QB into one of the outside guys.

The DT Mosely mentioned was a FA for a 3-4 team. None of the named FAs in the link to the available is ringing a bell. It might have been Shaun Rogers before he got a deal with Cleveland and was traded there. I honestly do not remember.

Peppers I would not forget.

I am in the same boat Hos. It is friggin ridiculous here.

This is why the Cardinals are quickly becoming one of my most hated teams. It is ridiculous and is REALLY making me sick.

I REALLY don't want the Eagles to win so I would rather have AZ get to the SB and then get destroyed by Pittsburgh.
Dude, you have to be hating life. The bandwagon plays sour music.

Vince Wilfork ?

Gawd I hope not. He is a good player but in no way, shape or form would I want him on the Cowboys. He is one of if not THE dirtiest player in the NFL.

Canty's deal is done, right? And Thomas was probably on a 1-year deal so I don't think we save any cap money by letting them go because nothing is allotted to them for '09. That's just my suspicion/guess.

Canty is a Free Agent along with Spears and Ware. I think we will bring all 3 back. Unless we can make a run at Julius Peppers, then we might let Canty go.

I could also see us letting Canty go if we were to bring in a big run-stuffing NG and move Ratliff over, at least part-time. That might require us to bring Bowen back as well. We'd probably have to tender him a little higher than we might otherwise would like...
