I think the first test Jerry should put each potential coach through is the "exasperated look" test. If they can make that "what else is going to go wrong" facial expression like Campo, Parcells, Turner, etc. ... don't hire them

I would love for Cowher to be the next coach. I've said that for months now. The guy has the fire these young players need to motivate them to play to their potential.

Parcells has built a really good core group of players who can provide a solid future for the Cowboys but the players need someone who will fire them up and raise the expectation level for each player.

I would love to have Mike Singletary get a chance at head coaching... he was an impressive guy at the SB practices last year... Like all of you before have said, we need somebody hungry and out to prove he belongs... That IMO screams somebody like Singletary... Can you imagine those eyes glaring out across Texas Stadium?

I personally like Norv Turner... Not sure that's a good enough reason, but felt like he deserves a chance and might be good for Romo. Heard someone on ESPN say that Norv was going to lobby for it.


Think we need someone offense minded. Urban Meyer would be pretty exciting, ala a young Jimmy Johnson, but it's hard to see him taking the job so early in his contract with Florida.

In a perfect world I'd take Cowher. However I don't see that as a possibility any more. I really felt Parcells would stick for one more year and it might happen. Not now. We will not compensate Pittsburgh for the right to hire him, nor any other team their HC.

The only HC I would give up picks for would be Andy Reid and he isn't going to reunite with Owens.

I think those speculating Norv or Wade are probably right, and in truth I hate the idea. People will bring up Belichick's failed time in Cleveland as evidence they might be a good hire. I just don't see it.

This team is very talented. Bill did a great job asembling a roster. He just did a lousy job coaching that talent IMO. I mean really lousy. I'm not at all impressed.

Whoever takes over this team they have to be very charismatic. The spotlight burns too bright here not to have that. That is why Gailey and Campo are so detested. People will say Landry wasn't, but he was a genius who was larger than life. There isn't a Landry anywhere in the NFL any more.

I wish it was a perfect world, but it isn't. I'm pretty much resigned to Wade Phillips.

I agree with you.I would really be surprised if Wade Phillips isn't the next head coach of the dallas cowboys.I also agree that they need to take a serious look at Mike Singletary,Rex Ryan,Ron Riviera,or someone along those lines.I don't really know if he will look the college route,but if he did,I think that Houston Nutt,Bob Stoops would be likely candidates.Like I said,I think that Wade Phillips will be the next head coach of the dallas cowboys.
