Houck vs Sparano

Players only vote for their own conference. It's nfc vs. afc.

Is it the same with the coaches, do they only vote within the conference?

Our line even had struggles with Sparano. I remember everyone badmouthing him then because of the line. It's Gurode, y'all.

He is hands down the most overrated player on our roster.

There's no close 2nd.

I agree

we should have drafted Mangold instead with Parcells wisdom we needed another LBer an drafted Carp

I never liked Sparano - to much like big Bill and I hated Bill Parcells

That is using far too much hindsight.

Let's be real, there was no reason to draft Mangold in 06, as Gurode was finally starting to emerge for us at center.

While Mangold is a stud now, it would have been a dumb pick at the time. I knew Carp was a dumb pick, but spending a first on a center when you already have a young emerging center on your roster that you've developed isn't any better.

Now would I take Mangold over Gurode? You bet.

The Sparano jizz is funny. Wasn't it under Sparano's watch that the OL got the rep for crapping out in big games?

The 2007 playoff loss to the Giants was mostly the fault of the OL. The Giants front 7 absolutely owned them in the 2nd half.

Bigg Davis says 'hi.'

Alright, alright, so he is a close 2nd. But you always hear Gurode mentioned as one of the best in the league, and he's not. I usually do not hear Davis mentioned as one of the best guards.

That's how we fall apart every year in the playoffs.

Get an athletic defensive line and only rush four except for 3rd and long. Then we are forced to play a mistake-free game on offense if we want to win. So far it hasn't happened.

I just wish that a season could end with a step forward each year and not have to end in a total meltdown. You know, losing to the Vikings, perhaps it would of been tougher to deal with if it was by 3 points or something, but I'm tired of the total collapse and looking like we don't even belong on the field with the other team.

I think Davis is a bigger liability than Gurode, but you're probably right that Gurode is the most overrated. Either way, those guys are 1 and 2. The good news is, there's really not a lot of other overrated guys on this roster anymore. It's a pretty good group.

I would say besides those two, the rest are underrated.

no Gurode did not start at center until 06 - he may have played in a few games at center

I expected him to cut after 05

cause he was plain lousey at gaurd an center

and still is

I bet we see a ball or two goning over Romo's head this year

does Saprano have that good of O line

can't be that good they sure jumped after Procter

and how can you miss on a number one pick

I think all the rest of the group were already there

Tony Sparano is someone I have a great deal of respect for, but I'm not exactly crying about having Houck either.

The real issue is Sparano vs Garrett as playcallers.

Sparano did more with less. A lot less.

Gurode has not been lousy up until recently. For those that say otherwise just shows how little they know about O line play.

I`m tired of hearing about the " Houck magic". This line can`t block a fat kid from the cookie jar. The inability to pick up stunts and blitzes falls on the coaching staff.

I guess you missed his first couple of seasons of Gurode at Center

when the ball would go flying over Romo's head
or hit him in the face mask
or making him jump up to get the ball
or even making him bend over

that takes away from Romo's timing
