oh well, so much for the winning streak.....2 losses in a row

That was our best start since I can't remember when. I'm just happy we are not 0-6 instead of 3-3.

wooooohoooo we just swept the Mets.....CHAMPIONSHIP baby....

just kidding....but still, this is a great thing for the team. I honestly felt the only sweep they would be a part of this year was them being swept.....

11-14 now...with a shot at .500 by the end of the weekend, but they have the Cards up next, so that is a huge longshot.

I'll be happy with 63+ wins and finishing ahead of Pittsburgh in the standings this year. I am going back to night shift soon so I think I will buy the MLB app so I can listen to Astros games.

I'm a Rangers fan living too close to Houston so I get the Astros games and no Ranger games. Of course I want to watch the Rangers but I understand being blacked out, even though I don't enjoy it.

But I will definitely root on the Astros. They are a scrappy little team, pretty fun to watch.

That app is great. All radio broadcasts along with condensed games after it's over for only $15. Mine seems to use a lot of data though.

I have a free one that gives me access to most games at A&M and I love it. Sometimes they forget to blackout the MLB games but it isn't as often as it used to be. I am still grandfathered in to the AT&T unlimited data plan so my main concern is battery life. I can't remember the last time I've watched a baseball game but I have become a huge fan of listening on the radio.

The Astros have a chance to sweep the defending champion Cards this afternoon! I have a feeling Happ will blow it but it is still nice to get a series win and be close to .500. We have Miami and Pittsburgh up next, we should be able to break .500 again if the team can keep playing like this.

I really think this team will be competitive by 2014. Some of these young guys are actually sticking, it seems, especially Altuve and JD. The farm system is about halfway rebuilt. Just a few years ago it was one of the worst in recent baseball memory and now it is...well... mediocre. Luhnow is doing a good job and they've got some great trade bait in Wandy and Meyers, the 1-1 pick as well as a first round supplemental.
I expect by this time next year they will have a top ten farm system.

The Stros have won again. I didn't think there was anyway this ballclub would be 20-23 at this point. I'm proud off this club, despite their lack of talent and small payroll this is a scrappy team that has heart. I'm enjoing watching them.

Houston has the youngest team in the National and 2nd youngest in MLB. These young guys are scrappers. I have caught several of their games thus far and they are fun to watch.

I like the Astros but would not cheer for them against the Rangers. So good luck this year & I hope they are bottom feeders next year.

I feel the same about the Rangers. :laugh2:

I like to see them win and of course a big fan of the owner. Come next season that all comes to an end. :laugh2:

Funny! My friend who went to one of the games in Houston said she was given a ton of grief for having on her Rangers shirt. Cussed at throughout the whole game she said. Which is ok I guess because she tuned the idiots out but it just goes to show how much anything Dallas is hated down there..which I find amusing. She said there were tons of Rangers fans there. I don't mind the Astros (till next year!) but cannot stomach the Texans.

Oh no doubt there are some here in Houston who hate anything about Dallas.

Myself I like the Rangers and love Nolan Ryan, in my book he is about the classiest guy I have seen in Professional sports and had the privilege to watch many times in person as a Pitcher for the Astros including his 5th no hitter and breaking the all time strikeout record.

The rivalry for many in Houston go beyond sports but of course sports plays a big part especially the Cowboys.

Having said that come next year when the Astros are in the same division I'm pulling for the Stros but I don't think I will ever have a hatred for the Rangers

I like Nolan too. My dad liked him & those old Astros like Biggio & Bagwell so I heard about them. Am I wrong in saying the hate from Houston to Dallas is a lot more heated than the Dallas fans hating on Houston? I never noticed it when in the Metroplex but my relatives down there still spew anti Dallas anything if the subject comes up!

I agree. That it seems to be a one way street. I don't hear Cowboy fans or even people in Dallas slamming Houston but I do hear many in Houston who have a different view and feeling towards Dallas.

I have lived in Houston most of my life and Being a Cowboys fan here is not always easy but those are my Boys have been since I watched my 1st football game I can remember back in 1965.

Astros where the 1st pro baseball team I watched by when guys like Doug Radar was the 3rd basemen Larry Dierker was pitching and who of course would later be the coach of the Astros. So of course Houston Astros will always be my team when talking baseball.
