I agree. That it seems to be a one way street. I don't hear Cowboy fans or even people in Dallas slamming Houston but I do hear many in Houston who have a different view and feeling towards Dallas.

I have lived in Houston most of my life and Being a Cowboys fan here is not always easy but those are my Boys have been since I watched my 1st football game I can remember back in 1965.

Astros where the 1st pro baseball team I watched by when guys like Doug Radar was the 3rd basemen Larry Dierker was pitching and who of course would later be the coach of the Astros. So of course Houston Astros will always be my team when talking baseball.

I think there is a lot of Cowboys envy involved. My dad gets ribbed about the Texans beating the Cowboys that first game but for some funny reason Texan fans clam up when reminded that the Cowboys stomped them a few years ago...funny how that works!

Funny! My friend who went to one of the games in Houston said she was given a ton of grief for having on her Rangers shirt. Cussed at throughout the whole game she said. Which is ok I guess because she tuned the idiots out but it just goes to show how much anything Dallas is hated down there..which I find amusing. She said there were tons of Rangers fans there. I don't mind the Astros (till next year!) but cannot stomach the Texans.

I have never known Astro fans as being confrontational. ( I am one) However, when it comes to football down here these texan fans are like Commander fans. They hate the Cowboys more than they like their own team. They are obsessed with the Boys, the sports talk radio down here is a trip. These people aren't texans fans they are just Cowboy haters. Yesterday, for one and half hours they talked about how the Boys haven't done anything in the last 15 years. Then some Boy fan called in and asked what have they ever done. The just hung up on him and wouldn't debate him. These people are making it hard for me to even root for the Stros anymore.

it didn't bother her. She thought it was funny! I don't like the Texans & Doomsday has filled me in on the Cowboys hate in Houston. I think that's funny really. Cowboy haters are gonna hate! I have never heard one good thing about Houston sports radio!

maybe cause all these Ranger fans are fairweather at best......but, still no reason to harass them. Make a snide comment if you want, but leave it at that. Just go to the game and enjoy yourself.

BTW, twice the Astros had a chance to get to .500, just one game from it, only to go on a losing streak.....very frustrating.

My friend actually worked for the Rangers so she is not a fair-weather fan. But if you want to classify "all these Ranger fans" so be it. It was just a bunch of intoxicated college guys and not an indictment of Astros fans. There are bad eggs in every crowd. You just hope you don't sit next to them if you go to any sporting event these days. As it was the stuff directed her way was anti-Dallas stuff which she found funny & so do I.

It is frustrating, we had an amazing home stand minus the Rangers series but what can you do? I would simply be happy to be competitive against NL Central opponents but we won't be playing them next year so it doesn't really matter. We are 10-7 against the division so far.

btw, not all rangers fans are fairweather.....but there is a large number of them. my older bro is a rangers fan and has been since he was a teenager.

but also, another reason the rangers fans got a nice earful in Houston was cause there is a lot of bitterness amongst sports fans in Houston......the Rockets have stunk it up since Hakeem left. The Astros have sucked since Biggio retired. The Texans finally made the playoffs for the first time, only to have to go through it without Schaub.

The Astros have selected Carlos Correa with the first pick in the 2012 MLB draft. The only thing I know about this guy is that he's a 17 yr old short stop from Puerto Rico. I had been hearing the Stros would select pitcher Marc Appel with the first pick.

Big kid already... 6'4".

If he fills out any more he'll be a 3rd baseman.

Won't see him in the majors for a while but based on potential he's got the look.

The Appel kid fell a little.

Certainly an argument could be made for another quality starter and one that would probably contribute to the team faster than Correa, but if Correa ends up being a 10 year guy with consistent 25 HR power... Well that's not bad.

Well, they may have gotten the quality starter in Mc Cullers.

Man, what Luhnow and the Astros just pulled off was masterful, given the uncertainties going into this new CBA. Luhnow gamed it out perfectly (assuming they manage to sign guys like McCullers and Rio Ruiz.)

Who is McCullers?

Sorry, just saw this. Lance McCullers is a high school pitcher from Texas with great upside thought by many to be a mid-first round talent. He fell down to the supplemental round due to signability concerns - he had a pretty strong college commitment. The Astros had talks with his agent and were confident they could offer him mid first round money (due mostly to the savings on Correa) and get him signed.

Astros big pick up since Crane bought them was Luhnow. I think he is going to help this team quite a bit from the farm teams to the show.

That was a really good win last night, one of those "character building" games. I think if we are looking for wins Harrell would have been pulled in the top of the 9th, but I like letting him go for the CG shutout. Finishing with the throw out at the plate and the K against Hundley should boost the confidence of these young guys.

The Astros have traded Carlos Lee for three prospects.

Yeah, that needed to happen.

They had to get Lee's salary off the payroll.

Any word on whom the prospects are?
