This outcome was about what I expected. McCarthy isn't surviving the year. PLUS, even with our starters, we suck. Need a massive overhaul.

this team mirrors the lean years of 1987-1989,1990. We are in a time of darkness, without a light.

what did Parsons do? Did he even make the stat board?
HELL, did he play? I recall him maybe affecting about 3 plays all game. After that, he was invisible. Jerry probably told everyone after the game how hard we are playing, and we will do better next week lmao

My money is on Cleveland......I think we get to 4.

1. Cleveland- Shedeur Sanders QB Colorado
2. Jacksonville- Travis Hunter CB/WR Colorado
3. Tennessee- Mykel Williams DE Georgia
4. Dallas- Ashton Jeanty RB Boise St.
Crazy no way. Trade back.

Parsons had exactly 1 tackle for the game...............thats it...................no sacks, no tackles for loss, no pass defensed, no QB hits, just one single tackle for the entire game.

Yeah, lets make him the highest paid defender in the league:facepalm:

Box score credits him with 1 single tackle for the game.................and it was a group tackle, not a solo tackle..................yep, lets make him the highest paid defender in league history:thumbup:

Think he had ten pressures but I don’t recall him making a single tackle.

RB at #4 again :muttley:
Personally.....I'm torn on the pick....because the kid is special. Sadly.....BSU is running this kid to death. Think he would be pretty great in a 85-15 time share @ the next level. He's not that big.....but he's got such great balance....vision....always makes the first guy miss...bounces off an amazing number of tackles. Yards after contact....5.5. But like you....I cringe @ the thought of burning a top 5 pick on a RB. But then I ask myself this....Where would the 90's Cowboys be without Emmitt Smith? By God your burning a top 5 pick on that guy....no question.

It was a domino effect.

it started with a slow but steady erosion of the cap management. Poor choices lead to wasting critical cap space needed for growth and retention of talent.

The next step involved the way in which the team management dealt with this cap issue. Jery decided to explore the fatal option of overpaying good frontline talent, backing them up with marginal NFL talent and keeping his fingers crossed.

The only exception to this process is the RB squad which Jerry ignored altogether.

That is practically an invitation to the injury bug and this season he was a deadly sniper. He just didn't take out certain players, he destroyed entire squads.

The Cowboys lost their four top DE's by the end of the 4th game. I don't think their two-1st team All Pro CB's have played together. Bland has been out almost all season and Diggs is still recovering from last seasons injury. Naturally, their best backup is also hurt and another backup has lost some game time.

So, the Cowboys are a team composed of a half dozen excellent players, marginal elsewhere, with zero depth. Those half dozen excellent players were injured like ducks in a row at a fair shooting booth.

Of course, no issue will threaten team focus more than contract disputes and holdouts. Jerry did his best to ensure the drama blended in effectively with the preseason and training camp.

When everything was falling apart Jerry felt like he had to do something and that's a triple red flag. He traded a 2025 draft pick for the highest drafted bust he could find for his "go to" position, the WR's. Therefore, he is already working diligently to erode the quality and value of his best opportunity to improve the team.

Top 5 picks need to be cornerstone players, like QB, LT, DE, CB...................you can get RBs in the 2nd round.

Look at it this way, instead of drafting Zeke at #4, we could have drafted Jalen Ramsey at #4 and then picked up Derrik Henry in the 2nd.

Would your rather have Zeke or Ramsey + Henry ???

You mention Emmitt Smith............guess what, he was not a top 5 pick either....................he was drafted #17 overall in 1990.

Unless you are Barry Sanders (drafted 3rd overall), it is just not worth it to draft a RB that high considering they have the shortest shelf life of any position.
