I find this to be so odd. Forget about the other players that also play and have been playing much longer. Now I know we use him probably where he shouldn't be. Also he's the kind of kid that's probably had several big injuries this year, but is keeping it quiet because he wants to play every game!!

I'm just confused, I hope we have a better game plan going forward, please give your thoughts
I know, man. I've watched every snap of Micah's this season, many of them more than once, and I don't need extra rest. What's his problem?

He has been playing on the D line so much this year, and is so much smaller than the guys he goes up against. Then throw in the double teams he has to fight through at times - its no wonder this kid is worn down. In the beginning of the year the defense had to win most of those games too. I hope they find a way to rest him somewhat these next 2 games, forget the stupid sack numbers - we need him wreaking havoc in the playoffs. Thats the most important thing.

Parsons plays a crazy amount of snaps for a pass rusher. That’s why.

Most defensive ends you want to play around 60-70% of the snaps.

Parsons is playing 90%
Mika is playing 90% of the D snaps? Seems like he is on the sidelines more than 10% of the time.
What about guys like Joey Bosa and the guy from the Raiders. The both seem to play every defensive snap at 100% effort.

How much does Mika weigh compared to those 2? I would think Mika is close to 240lbs, while the other 2 are around 265-270lbs.

I think next year Mika needs to build his body up to play DE or move to MLBer and blitz a lot.

I think he can DEFINITELY be a Hall of Fame DE. I don’t know, for sure, he can be a Hall of Fame MLBer. Though I suspect he can!

In simplest terms I think he's like a stud racehorse....he will push himself until he has a heart attack and dies on the track....he doesn't know how to manage himself which means you get some incredible stuff but he also wears down...he will learn ad he grows I'm sure

Not to mention he is undersized for a defensive end. Going up against 300+ linemen and getting chipped will the it's toll on a smaller frame.

Micah is at 81%. I was wrong about 90.

Nick Boss is at 70%.

Crosby is higher than Micah. But Micah has more sacks than him.

81% is a crazy snap count for a pass rusher. Dlaw is only like 67%

Have you ever been hit really hard and have the energy sucked out of you? Now imagine that for 60 minutes by the people hitting you weighing 300+ lbs for weeks on end.

Agree but it is the coaches job to manage the player. Play him at OLB (covered by 4 DL) more so he is not catching OT and OG every play.

He should chill a bit till he gets paid. He won’t get paid if he hurts himself or burns out before that day.

Yeah I don't know why this is so hard to understand. 235-240 pound guys aint build to play 4-3 defensive end. Ware was 20 pounds heavier and it took a toll on him when we shifted from 3-4 to 4-3. If we were playing a 3-4 or more of the wide 9 look it might save him some punishment.. But yeah.. getting double teamed pretty much every play takes a toll. There's no mystery here.

No offense but we never switched from 3-4 to 4-3 during that time.

We actually switched the other way around and it was the beginning of the end of our DC Mike Zimmer who never was able to understand the 3-4 scheme.

Ware excelled as a DE in the 4-3 scheme. He had problems with switching to OLB in the 3-4.

  • In the Eagles game.
    • Parsons played 96% of the snaps.
    • DLaw played 63% of the snaps.
    • All other DLinemen played less than 60% of the snaps.

Quinn and Mccarthy need to be the adults in the room

Remind him that he is a rush LB not a DE and use him like that

Remind him that this is about SBs not DPOY

unfortunately there are ZERO adults in this franchise

This is why I want Payton next year if we don’t get to the NFCCG

OR there are adults, but they get overruled by the non-adult fanboy owner.

I also think him not playing two years ago has something to do with it. Last year he was fine late in the year…. But back to back 17 game seasons may take its toll. It’s something as other have said he’ll adjust to

Sorry bro but you got it wrong here.. The Cowboys stayed with the 4-3 the first couple of years Parcells was here but switches to 3-4 by year three. They specifically drafted Ware to be a right outside linebacker. Go look it up.. He was listed as an outside linebacker every year in the league until 2012.. the Kiffen year.. When Parcells left they brought in Wade.. I think you know which defense Wade runs.. (Hint.. it aint a 4-3) ... When Wade got canned we cycled through Ryan and then Kiffen.. Ryan was a 3-4 guy.. Kiffen a 4-3 guy.. As such Ware only played 2 seasons as a 4-3 end.. His last year in Dallas and his first year in Denver under Jack Del Rio. Every other year he was a 3-4 OLB.

Other than the fans on here who is saying Micah needs rest? Micah isn't. The team isn't. Maybe he doesn't?

That's insane. If we're going to use him as a D-lineman, then he needs to be rotated along with the others. No wonder he was gassed at the end of the game looking for a timeout.

I think Micah gives 100% on every snap. He's the guy who doesn't stand around watching team mates make the play, he gets involved as much as he can, all effort, lots of hussle through the whistle. The coaches have to do better managing this kind of guy. I'd give him tonight off, let his body rest then formulate a plan to rotate him at LB more vs wash and rush primarily on clear passing downs. Then in the playoffs it'd do whatever you have to do to win time.
