I understand Capers has not signed his DC contract with Miami and is free to speak with teams (or is there an update to that situation?)

Norv would jump at the chance to HC here with the Offensive weapons we have in place.

I would love for you guys to get Norv as a head coach. Those Raiders sure showed improvement under his guidance!

Possible. How about Dennis Green or Steve Mariucci?

Can only do so much with crappy personnel like the Raiders have...

Norv's Cowboy Offense, on the other hand, shredded your team something like 15 straight times... so be careful what you wish for.

Isn't the point to help improve the 'crappy' personnel?

If Norv brings back that O-line, Troy, Emmitt and Irvin in their primes I'll happily accept him as HC.

I think term "Assistant Head Coach" should be ban and anyone suggesting it should be executed. You're the head coach or you're not! PERIOD.

The term was created solely to allow one team to lure another teams coach away without actually having to give them the actual head coach position. It's been outlawed by the NFL now as an excuse to hire away a coach in that fashion.

As the only way you can hire away another teams coach is if it's a higher position. QB coach to OC or OC to HC. etc...

Will Norv work for Jerry Jones? Seems to me he would have been a good choice instead of Campo or Gailey. I'm not sure what the overlap was w/ his HCing stint w/ the Commanders, but wasn't he OC w/ the Chargers for a year and also at Miami before taking the Raiders job. Remember Norv is a Tony Dungy type guy. This is why he failed w/ the Raiders; not in-your-face and firey enough. Will BP-type players respond to him? Can he handle TO?...

Personally, I don't think Norv was any good without Johnsons guidance. He can't draft thats for sure. Are you Norv supporters sure you want him picking your draft picks?!?!?

We have high quality Offensive personnel, Norv is good at making the most of that personnel... the Raiders never had the quality... can only do so much with low end personnel. Norv's talent apparently is not in making bad players good... it is in running a high-powered offensive game plan with great players (we have seen him try it with and without great players... anyone can see the results)

Even in SF with moderately good players on Offense, he is running a good looking offense.

Capers signed his extension last Friday after Cameron was announced as HC in Miami.

Someone said he hasn't actually signed it yet.

So let him keep doing what he does well - run offenses.

He has been a very poor HC though.

That would go over real well with T.O.

And at least T.O. was more productive under Mariucci, eh.
