I haven't heard anyone in the FO mention it...I'm talking "quality" FA's in positions of need...not quantity

Hopefully a lot more active than our non-existent off-season last year.

If I had to guess, I think we'll pounce on a target or two early in FA and then sit back and see if we can get a bargain later.

Just a hunch, Im betting we dont go after any big names. This team has commited to a youth movement and its strated with the offensive line and ILB.

I could live with 2 quality signings in a position of need as opposed to 5-6 mediocre signings

Until the new CAP is announced, we don't know how much money there will be for shopping. Right now we are about $17 million under the 2011 CAP.

We should be able to get several players, one top flight OG is my biggest hope right now. I don't see us making a lot of noise in FA, but we will be doing some shopping. Hopefully, we can land two or three of the Kyle Kosier types- not big names, but solid starters with several years left in them.

Remember when we got Kosier? Nobody was dancing in the streets over the signing, but he was (has been) solid for years, a down season this year doesn't change that.

Depends on what you mean by big names. We may not go after big household names like DeSean Jackson or Peyton Manning, but I think we will go after big names that players, coaches, and GM's across the league are familiar with, such as Carl Nicks.

Stephen Jones said on a radio show , a couple of weeks ago , that he didn't think the Cowboys would be very active in free agency . Take it for what it is worth .

They (Jerry and Stephen) also said they had no interest in Nnamdi Asomugha.

As a fan I hope we do. I just think those players that are a tier down from the marquee names, players like Nicks are going to command more than we are willing to spend.

I kind of see a couple scenarios like the Nnamdi negotiations. We will likely make offers to several players, gauge their interest in coming here and then ultimately be out bid.

I hope we wait another year for the difference maker FAs and keep building from within. Not many teams get the bang for the buck in Free Agency.

Do you know when the cap list will be announced?

Carl Nicks or Ben Grubbs and Michael Griffin

Anybody have a list of the people that will be free agents this year? I wonder if there will be many worthwhile to go after.

This coincides with garrets last press conference where he was talking about his approach, reigning in over spending and re establishing fiscal responsibility.

Then... Jerry on his radio show also mentioned teams like the Commanders and their big spending and the Eagles this year and how it doesnt necessarily translate to success on the field.

I think this team in trending away from trying to make splashes in FA. Not to say they wont sign a few players they label as a good value.

Exactly how the Kyle Kosier signing was described. I'll take a few of that caliber. And head into the draft feeling pretty good.

And then we will snag a couple more good fit players after pre-season and the cut to 53. That is how we got Fiammetta and Robinson this season.
