I don't think the Cowboys should win a Super Bowl as long as Garrett is around. Not even a fluke-which it would be.Just curious to other fans' thoughts on a ridiculous hypothetical.
Would you want us to shock everybody, & get to the Super Bowl this year, assuming two things:
1. Losing in the SB
2. Garrett would be resigned for at least another 5yrs.
Honestly, I think the bar is lower. I think if somehow, some way, this team makes it TO the NFC Championship, Garrett will be resigned. Even with a humiliating loss. I believe JJ & Co. have pretty much telegraphed, that is the bar.
So, what would be your preference..? Make it farther than we have in the last couple decades, knowing Garrett ain't going anywhere, or having our usual late season disappointment, & going another direction as far as coaching goes, going forward..?
5 years is too long super bowl or not,..........if he lucked out and won a super bowl I could see 2 yearsJust curious to other fans' thoughts on a ridiculous hypothetical.

How do fans push for that?Garrett needs to go. But getting rid of him and just hiring another coach without some structural and cultural changes at the top will just be a new coat of paint on the Titanic. Fans need to push for REAL change, not just a new puppet for Jerry to play with.
How do fans push for that?
If pigs could fly...If Garrett gets the team to the Super Bowl, he deserves to keep his job.
The reason I want him fired is because I don't believe he and his philosophy can get us there. If he proves me wrong, I'd be fine with him being re-signed.
If he gets to the NFC Championship Game, keeping him would depend on a few things. Were we competitive in the game? Were coaching errors/being outcoached a factor in the loss? Those things would need to be evaluated. I believe that whenever we lose it's not going to be because the other team had more talent but because we were outcoached.
I'd like to say it's Super Bowl or bust for him. However, since I think we'll likely lose to Philly or be ousted early from the playoffs, I don't think we'll be left in a quandary.
If pigs could fly...
But he didn't say a Superbowl win... The op says Superbowl loss and JG resigned for 5 years. As painful as a hypothetical Super Bowl win and 5 more years of JG would be..I'm happy with #6 and not looking back.
I mean, come on, it's the first in far too many disappointing seasons. Give me #6.
