You know by now that the Cowboys defense has gotten off to a slow start. These numbers put it into context.

Tampa Bay has hosted the Cowboys and the New York Giants in the first three weeks of the season. Here is what the Cowboys defense did compared to what the Giants did yesterday.

Points allowed: Cowboys 21, Giants 0
Yards allowed: Cowboys 450, Giants 86
Byron Leftwich: 25-of-41, 276 yards Cowboys, 7-of-16, 22 yards Giants

Either a bad game or shows me that this defense isn't even close to the Giants Defense.

I am going with a couple of bad games.

No fair we had to play the bucs in heat with no tape of their offense. The giants had game films from 2 games. It's not even fair to compare the two.

good assestment daboys but at same time wade admitted that he didnt run blitz packages enough in training camp
just like after the cowboys giants game wade said, well, i thought we could run more man to man, but maybe we have to go back to some zone

your the head coach/defensive coordinator and you dont have your defense ready?

a couple of things

our defense is not as good as the Giants

it was opening day and Leftwich, Cadillac and Bryant etc... were "fresh" and jacked for the start of the season

no one had any film on what the Bucs were going to be

We why would give our defense that other teams already hasfilm on. It's better to go vanilla.

like dc fanatic, i am starting to have my doubts about our defense, especially pass coverage
like babe laufenberg said today, if leftwich had been on target in the tampa bay game, it could have been worse

again in both games we have no sacks, no interceptions
and wade says, i think our pass rush is fine, we just have to hit the qb alittle more

and your defensive coordinator guru says that;

i understand about film and in preseason games, but im saying why didnt you do it in closed practices more, but oh yeah, wade says i didnt want to get our players hurt, when you blitz you tend to get offensive players hurt

thats where im pointing too, didnt rex ryan get his complex defense wiht the jets ready? why cant we? oh yeah, we dont want to get players hurt

duh, you have players on scout team, etc put them in extra padding and let the players blitz, get used to run blitz and blitz packages on passing downs

It's not always about sacks harass the qB enough and he'll start to make mistakes. Romo wasn't sacked against the giants and he still threw 3 picks.

Rex Ryan was instilling a new system and had to do that so that his player would be well prepared for the season.

Romo wasn't harassed or pressured on those picks. they were just terrible throws.

as to our defense - through the 1st 2 games it's the worst in the league.

well rex said he was worried that the players couldnt get his system down, but after the wins so far, rex has said that the players want to learn and are willing to be taught

jay ratliff was on the other day and basically every player on defense is willing and eager to learn,

yet even vets like newman and hamlin looked totally lost and turned around

so what is it?

But he was harassed throughout the game and was given confusing looks and rushed one throw one was a bad break and the other was simply bad decision making on his part.

no he wasn't. he was just off like he usually is in big games so far in his career. make whatever excuses you want but all 3 were bad throws. the one off Witten's foot was flukey that it got picked but If Romo threw it accurately it wouldn't of had a chance to get picked.
