no he wasn't. he was just off like he usually is in big games so far in his career. make whatever excuses you want but all 3 were bad throws. the one off Witten's foot was flukey that it got picked but If Romo threw it accurately it wouldn't of had a chance to get picked.

That's true Romo sucks we should of traded him for Cutler.

My bet is our defense makes delhomme look like Dan Marino.

I think the next 3 games are going to tell us what we have,it's hard to judge what you have after only 2 games.Starting tonight this defense needs to come together and show that they can put pressure on the opposition. In the past this defense has started off slowly only to pick it up after a few games,i'm hopefull that turnaround begins tonight.I will say that you can find reasons to be pessimistic about this defense, especially if you go back to last years meltdown. However for now i'm going to be optimistic about this defense until the bye week.

He's not entitled to a bad game I mean look at what he did against the bucs?
bad games happen but no, he's not entitled to a bad game and neither is anyone else on this team. you think Jerry put in Romo's contract of 67 million that he's entitled to a handfull of games every season? he played real good against the 0-3 Bucs. He played real bad against the 3-0 Giants. he's gotta play better not worse against the better teams in the league especially since our defense is terrible.

Most of what we've seen thus far has been pretty disconcerting but I'm waiting until after this game to rate this D.

And that's an entirely different thing than whether or not we're going to be any good, whether or not it's fixable, etc.

But he was harassed throughout the game and was given confusing looks and rushed one throw one was a bad break and the other was simply bad decision making on his part.

true, the giants scheme was to keep romo in the pocket, =make him throw

so for next game with giants garrett must provide schemes to beat that and take advantage of that if they continue to try to keep romo in the pocket

all you will have to do is listen to what big mouth jacobs says
jacobs said we dont think he is a proven qb in the pocket if you make him throw in the pocket

we should get a good gauge on this defense if they are decent when they play denver, then the next game after that will tell if they will be any good

Romo wasn't harassed or pressured on those picks. they were just terrible throws.

as to our defense - through the 1st 2 games it's the worst in the league.

Then there is no place to go but up on defense. :laugh2:

Defense clearly has started off poorly but it does not have to stay that way.

it should go up this year, but i forgot who said it, some pretty good gm or head scout, he said that wade's techniques might be outdated and teams are catching up to his schemes

They will play the games and we will find out. Just my gut feeling but I think this defense will get itself turned around

I hope you're right. I still think it's possible.

The most telling stat is that Tampa opened the season rushing 25 times by Cadillac and Ward against Dallas and has abandoned the run faster each game. Against the Bills, the duo rushed 16 times and against the Giants, 7 times. Cadillac had 13 carries for 97 yards against the Cowboys but didn't see his first carry (had 2 on the game) until the 3rd quarter when the team was down 17 nothing. With those backs and their QB situation, they should be running alot early on to set up play action with Leftwhich and his passion for the deep ball a bit later.

Edit: Actually it looks like his first carry came in the 2nd on their 3rd possession.

That is a weak stat to use for the basis of anything.

It's one week.

Dallas played much better in the second half of that game and honestly why would Dallas have showed anything special scheme-wise against a Bucs team that may not win 3 games this year?

Are the Giants better on defense? Yes. They have wayyyy more than one pass rusher and are comparable in coverage.

Does Dallas need to panic? No, this defense is hardly terrible just because they played a weak game 1 against a horrid offense.

Do we want this team to win all it's September games or focus on getting better week by week and playing it's best ball late?

No matter how well the Giants defense played they got the same W we did against Tampa. Not sure that Giants defense was feeling very good about how we gashed them in the run game. If anything they won because they were so ineffective stopping the run we scored in 1 minute with a drive of running plays.

These are all good points. I'm not panicking like others but I am worried. We're seeing trends from last year continued. We all hoped that offseason changes and work would put an end to them but that hasn't yet. Thus the panic.

We have stretches where both the offense and defense look great but it has been pretty difficult to get our offense and defense to play well in the same game. This has been going on for years.

We've blamed everyone from defensive linemen to the linesbackers to the corners to the safeties. We've "upgraded" at all those positions in turn and still seem to not be gelling.

I wish I could pin point what the problem is, other than consistancy, but it's very hard to tell at this point. I just hope Wade can get this thing together, plenty of football left for him to do so.

So team A beats team B and team A loses to team C....team C beats team B which means team A sucks to infinity. Gotcha.
