Consider this blurb from this morning's Washington Post:
The Skins amassed all of 198 yards of total offense against the woeful Panthers' defense... they had somebody named D'Anthony Batiste playing LT in place of Chris Samuels after the latter suffered a bad shoulder stinger very early in the game, and big ol' Mike Williams came in at GUARD to replace an ineffective Chad Rinehart, who was in turn replacing out for the season Randy Thomas... and Stephon Heyer was giving his usual impression of a turnstile...
Which is why Campbell was sacked five times in just 28 pass attempts, and why Chris Cooley had zero receptions (they pretty much had to keep him in for blocking)...
A few of the Post's sportswriters are rippin' the Skins' front office a new anal orifice for basically ignoring their offensive line issues these past two offseasons, IMO with good reason... they are in deep doo-doo on their line right now... I'd engage in my usual ragging on Campbell, but really, Peyton Manning would put up miserable numbers behind that line, working with that receiving corps...
Folks, we've got some issues (we've gotta figure out what to do in the red zone), but the Skins are just a mess right now... and as that quote above mentioned, this is the EASY part of their schedule...
And in the easy part of their schedule, they've gone 2-2 against 4 teams that are a combined 2-17... which means the only games those 4 teams have won were against the Skins... I may seriously consider picking the Chiefs against them in my Pick 'Em picks this week (I did pick the Panthers)...
For the fifth straight week, the Commanders will have to circle the wagons, pull out every motivational stop, just to beat a winless team. What on earth happens when they hit the real schedule? Including two wins over Washington, the combined record of the Commanders' last four opponents is 2-17.
