By the end of this season, he will be an established physical linebacker.

lol! when do we retire his number?

Too bad he couldn't have brought McNabb down on that late scramble...I didn't think Barbie did too much but at least he didn't have big negative plays.

#54 is in the ring of honor ;-)

I have not been a fan of his play, but for the last 2 weeks, he has actually played like he belongs in the NFL. I just hope the trend continues.

Good job Barbie.
I have to admit the same. I've not been a fan of Barbie. I've always thought Dallas could have dropped and taken Thomas Howard. I still think that Howard is a better LB than Barber, BUT, pass the crow. He has been playing better the last few weeks than he's played since he got here.

Whether it's a result of guys like Brooking being in there or just him having finally improved his game I dunno, but results are results.

He's a 1st round pick that hasn't cracked the starting lineup...yeah, a bust he kinda is. Doesn't mean we now can just throw him away. He's playing well. Nice to finally start getting something out of him but this not what the FO had in mind when he was drafted. I think he's making a case to be receive a tender offer this offseason. We need role players and nothing wrong with him carving out a role for himself.

What player did he make a GREAT open field tackle on a few weeks back, or so. Saved a 1st down, and caused them to punt. And came at a key time in the game?

I give up.

thought the guy played well last night. Everyone knows he can cover, but what about some of his tackling last night? Pretty good I thought....Wade should be credited with getting something out of this guy.....at least the "bust" talk should stop for now

DEFINITELY worth that 1st round selection now...after all it's not like we passed on talent after him...oh, wait...can I take back what I said...

By the way Cory P. rocked yesterday too in his 4 snaps.

A good ILB prevents that long gain on the McCoy screen.

He looked slow and out of position.

I swear he thinks he's Sampson because he needs a haircut, but he is evidently improved and that is welcome as he's sort of the Bill Bates of this team, except he cost a damn first round pick!

Overall, he's doing a fair job. At this point, that's all anyone can expect.

Anyway, skill players are supposed to make LBs look slow and out of position. And, trying to bring down McNabb in the open field is a difficult task for all LBs.

That I agree with.

but all this slobbering over him is unwarranted seeing how he's played decent, not great.

Count me still unimpressed....

He was ok.....but we still need a upgrade there......hoping a rookie would of taken his place.

IMHO....he just takes up space .....and is alot slower then his 40 time....

Of the defensive players playing......he is the worst one IMHO.....

Completely agree!

The Cowboys would be in serious trouble if either Brooking or James go down and "Carp" is asked to start.

Yeah, he looked awesome trailing McNabb on their TD play.

Barbie freaking blows, I cant believe some of you guys think he is actually playing well.

That McNabb scramble and TD toss was all on Barbie. He was playing the short middle zone and he is reponsible for the QB if he escapes the pocket. Barbie again was totally out of position on the long screen pass, that was his assignment also.

Now I do admit he is playing better than he was, but lets get real here. He went from playing like a Div 3 scrub to a Div 1 backup. Considering he cost us a dam 1st rounder, I think the BUST label is here to stay for good.

If you draft a guy in the 1st round and years and years later he is still a situational role player, THEN HE IS A BUST!!!!!

Dallas could do better than Carp, but not on the current roster. He has been a pretty sure tackler. He also plays ST.

He has improved, but he will not be a Cowboy next year.

I love how some are just glad he isn't a "complete waste". Dude's a 1st round pick, top 20.

Thus far, he's been one of the worst picks Dallas has made in a LONG while. Worse than the Quincy pick.

Seeing him make just enough to be worth a roster spot is nice but lets just remember this ****ing bum was supposed to be a lot more than a warm body.

I must have watched the game on the wrong channel, because I kept seeing him out of position on screen after screen and in spying McNabb, and...

Hell, my wife said last night, why is 54 always following behind the guy with ball!
