How can losing breed confidence?

I am amazed at how many posts from fans on various boards are predicting that we win out or at least win the east and get a home playoff game and this newfound confidence was instilled by a LOSS.

Grant it, Denver is a legitimate contender and we played them toe to toe, but if anything this loss has drained my confidence in this team to win big games.

Listen, Yesterday was a perfect time to make a statement to the rest of the NFL. we had a good team, in our house, on national t.v. , we could have turned up the heat on the Skins and Giants in one fell swoope, but the only thing we did was show that we are a good team that struggles to close in big games.

uh, losing one game isn't the same as losing 3 or 4, or more, in a row, you're talking about bad teams that lose constantly, gaining a loser's mentality, one loss, with a winning record, doesn't do that to a team
