How can Parsons buy a holding call?

The elephant in the room is that Parsons can't draw a single penalty call. He is not only held, but he is choked, bear hugged and simply tackled in some plays and doesn't draw a penalty.

That fumble for a TD, he was held while applying pressure. Yet was able to hustle downfield, pick up the ball and run it in for a TD.

What an amazing play. Except for the fact that he was also held.

Someone in the FO needs to start speaking about this publicly. Maybe Jerry can say something rather than talking about Halloween candies as a kid.

It's the rip move. He uses it a lot. There's an exception in the holding rule that says holding won't be called if you do it and put the OL in a position that's normally holding. The holding call he got today was when he did not use the rip move. Don't think it's coincidence.

What lol a hold is a hold. You can't tackle and choke a defender because he beat you with a move.

The owner of the franchise dressing in a "blind ref" Halloween costume probably isn't helping matters.

Yeah it's crazy how terribly he gets held. But he just seems to go about his business afterward like recovering fumbles and scoring tds. Maybe if he put his hands up more it would get the attention, but who knows.

I think if Dallas's bench makes noise to the officials and chews them out once in a while, it might change things a little. I know this can't go on and on all the time. It's beyond ridiculous.

They're not going to call people for holding Parsons.. anyone who has read " Harrison Bergeron" knows what's going on here.

Jerry should call the NFL office every day without exception. I would make them so sick of me calling.

Actually I might do it twice a day. Everyone working in the league office would know about it.

This just can't go on the rest of his career.

Hopefully they are sending in film every week with every hold. I see some on other guys too. It's pretty much all the linemen can do to stop these guys when they get going.

What is that? Never heard of it.
It's a great short story about a society that has decided everyone MUST be equal. Stronger people have to carry weights with them, smarter people have devices implanted that make a noise to disrupt their thoughts, people with perfect vision have to wear glasses, etc. The poster's point is that Parsons is SO much better than everyone, that it's okay for him to be held in order to even things out.

They (the FO) need to make a compilation video of all the blatantly terrible calls that have gone against us. Including the holds, reversed fumble call etc...from yesterday's game. Send it to the NFL, ESPN, ABC, CBS and NBC. Then hold a press conference and show it there. Start claiming publicly that there is a concerted effort by the NFL and their officials to keep Dallas from winning because of Jerry and his feud with Roger. Whether it's true or does not and won't matter, just getting people talking about it should help get more of the calls to go our way.

Thanks.. Are they really not having kids read that story anymore? It was very impactful to me as a kid.. It helped me understand the fallacy of "all men are created equal" at a very early age. All men are not created equal.. but our society attempts to afford equality of opportunity.. not equality of outcome..

Look at the rulebook. He is 100% correct. There was a thread about this a few weeks ago. There is very clearly a hold exception for rip moves which Parsons just so happens to use very often.

As someone who was in school more recently than many members here, we still read that story. At the same time, it does not apply here in the slightest. The reason he does not get the calls is literally written right in the rulebook:

"(i) if, during a defensive charge, a defensive player uses a “rip” technique that puts an offensive player in a position that would normally be holding. Exception: Holding will be called if the defender's feet are taken away from him by the offensive player's action."
