How come Cincy/Bal are able to pressure w/no-names?

Gotta love straw men. Don't act like a child and maybe you'll get some serious responses.

You should take your own advice. ;)

There were only 3 sacks in the entire game. Baltimore was 2nd in pass protection last year but Cinci was 19th and Baltimore only got a single sack.

We were hitting Manning and Ware came oh so close to getting a sack several times and pressured manning. Spencer got Manning to fumble and was close several times in his own right.

could it possilby be that we went up against the 5th best team in the NFL last season in terms of sacks allowed and had some poor coverages that allowed Manning to get the ball out quickly? Could it be that manning was just having one heck of a game?

I think it has more to do with this being our first real game in Wade's defense, and our timing on blitzes/stunts is way off. The only way to get your timing down for that stuff is actual game time.

I think by about midseason, we'll be on top of it and that's when we'll see some good, consistent pressure, and even some immediate pressure (at times) on opposing QBs, regardless of what OL we're facing.

Impossible. Didn't you get the memo that we never credit the other team with contributing to our team's suckage?

And i agree with you it defnitely seemed that the guys were disjointed. Hopefully this is something that film review and practice will help with experience.

I am just saying that NY was one of the best pass protecting teams last year and that the Cinci game was not exactly the pressure fest that everyone here is clamoring about even with Ogden going out.

i actually dont remember ever seeing Manning playing that well. He was getting the ball out fast and with accuracy which is not exactly his trademark. It was annoying because i would see Ware beat his man and be just about to get there but the ball would be out.

That was easily the best Ive ever seen manning play though. He only missed on one throw that i could remember and his deep ball was on the money.

My bad....Watkins was a 5th round pick which is in the second day of the draft. Scratch his name and insert Skylar Green.

oh so now we can move to the offensive side of the ball?

Crayton, Barber, Colombo, Hurd, Romo......all guys Bill brought in and were not 1st day picks.

Ya win some and ya lose some.....then you move on.

I agree. Manning played a damned good game. I had a feeling he would and sure enough, he produced.

Yep-you don't nec need Pro Bowl players, but you nonetheless need PLAYERS to fit your effective SCHEME.

Sadly, 34-32 has made alot of bad personnel decisions.:(

you don't need Pro-Bowlers at every position

You need PLAYERS-not nec FF type ones, but GOOD ones that fit your scheme.

34-32 did a poor job in this area.

You're right, you build your team by hitting on UDFA, FA, and mid to late round picks. First day draft picks are throw aways.

Now of those players that you proudly listed that Bill brought in, how many are elite players, besides Romo?

This team has the talent it has in spite of Parcells not because of him.

:lmao: I don't have to say anything in rebuttal, because that statement just speaks for itself

For one, it was Sean Payton who lead Parcells to Romo.

Two-if anything, Jeff Ireland is largely responsible for our lower round/undrafted "steals". And yes-it was Ireland who WARNED Parcells not to go after Rogers, Pederman, Al Johnson, etc, etc.
