How critical is this 3 game home stand?

Surely we need to win at least 2 out of 3 to get back to .500. We might need to win all 3. But that appears a taller order than originally expected when the season begun.

Not only have we been disappointing or under achieving falling to 1-2 but the Browns and Cardinals at 2-1 are trending up. They don’t appear the more winnable games we originally were looking at when the season kicked off.

What do you think. How many of these do we need to win??

I think the team just need to focus on the next game. Winning this one game can jump start the season. The first three games seemed to have had a helter skelter approach due to early mistakes. This game has a young QB that has emotional highs and lows. OBJ is a roller coaster as well. Dallas needs a yoda approach on defense and win mentally.

Go Dallas!!! Focus on the task at hand. The team has proven it can explode on offense. Now the defense needs to rise to the top.

giants for sure...cardinals would be good...browns not as important.

ill only call division games actually critical for this team. conference too probsbly just in case.

The issues I've seen in 3 weeks:
1. Turnovers
2. Poor special teams play
3. Poor pass defense
4. Pressure on the qb

I think when Smith and Collins come back, 4 will be solved directly and 1 indirectly.
I think it's up to the coaches to solve 2. Hopefully they are up for it.
The third won't be significantly fixed without an influx of talent, but they can at least get better at knowing their assignments. That's up to coaching and the players.

Despite these problems the Cowboys have been in every single game. Cut down on 1 and 2 and the wins will come in. Dak's just going to have to live with 4 somehow for the time being.

I dont think we did disappoint in the first 3 games. It qas to be expected that we lose against the rams and seattle. To win against atlanta wasnt a given before the season started too.

So 1-2 is ok when you look at the offseason and the team itself.

Now are the next 3 games important for us ? Comes down to what your expectations are.

Personally i do think winning our division can be done. Just because this is such a weak division. But we wont go any further in the playoffs. We will be one and done.

I also dont think there is any chance this team can compete with the good or very good teams in the nfc. So trying to reach for a first round bye seems silly to me. This looks like an average team. 8-8 in the end should let us all feel flattered.

So i think every game against our division rivals is a must win. All other games are goodies but no must wins.

I do think Arizona will be a loss. NYG should be an easy win. I am not sure against the browns. Could go both ways.

I try to stay optimistic and hope we go 2-1. That win against an outside division team will be big for us going forward.

This homestand will go a long way towards deciding our fate for the season. Go 3-0 and you're basically just 4 more wins from clinching this horrid division. Even at 2-1 you're in good shape for the middle of the season as you get heavy into division games. Go 1-2 or worse and it's time to start thinking about draft position because if you lose to teams of this caliber on your home turf you suck and you will continue to suck all year.

I actually prefer we lose before Arizona. This team seems to get cocky when they win, and when they get cocky, they lose their s*** and get blown out, which Arizona is capable of doing.
You mean the "I'm great because I'm a Dallas Cowboy" mentality?

That's a Jerry thing and it's not going away anytime soon.

They probably win the next two, then hear about how great they are, then lose to Arizona.

I've seen the damn movie. Many times.

To answer your question, they are critical. At first, I thought they were pointless, mostly because if Dallas does beat them, Dallas will still be deemed a team that can only beat low dangling fruit teams (thats likely true since Dallas can’t even get close to beating the Seahawks or the Rams).

However, I’ve come to the realization that Dallas will likely lose one if not two of these upcoming games. So it’s extremely critical here. We need momentum, losing a game every 3-5 games to prevent Dallas from getting that cocky “we can win it all” attitude that leads to them getting blown out or playing a mistake riddled game. I’m going to watch some Browns highlights. From what I see, they’re going to destroy Dallas, but I’m not sure yet. I will update you all on what I find.

Crucial. We need to get some momentum, and we play better at home. So, if we can get on a run with the home games, maybe we can get some momentum going for the rest of the season.

Not too critical, the eagles can easily by 0 - 5 and 1 after there next 3.

The Giants game is the only one I feel slightly confident about.
We need this win against the browns.

If Dallas loses to the Browns I'm throwing in the towel so to speak. Not that their dead, of course they can rebound, but to what extent? Besides the 1993 Oilers, I don't know of any other team that can start out 1-3 or worse and be championship caliber by season's end.
