I was wondering about something this evening. Given Dak's injury history, and the nature of his strong, but less-than-nimble physique...how would he be currently be classified in his mobility?

BTW...for anyone unclear about my stance...I'm a Dak fan, no hater.

I made my own category groupings. Feel free to challenge my views--they aren't precious.

Prescott should be in the most mobile list .

Welcome your opinion, but I don't see that . A few years ago, I could perhaps see him *possibly* being in the good list, which would put him above league average. The reality is that he's a wide-hip/torso guy and now after that nasty injury I suspect slightly heavy of foot. The one benefit of his size and strength is that he's not going to go down easy, but that's different than mobility, IMO

Middle of the road. He has slow feet so his acceleration is not very fast. That makes a difference when a QB is in the pocket and needs to go from 0-60 to scramble and escape. Compare to even an older Rodgers who is able to take off and pick up 10 yards sometimes because he has quick feet. Dak's mobility was best utilized close to the goal line when he only needed to pick up a few yards to get into the endzone

He was never fast but built like a tank and ran like one. He was also very accurate throwing on the run. For whatever reason, he doesn't do it anymore.
He needs to get back to running around more. Especially when the OL isn't playing well.

His ability to run and make plays with his legs was one of the things I really liked about Dak.
He used to be able to make a quick decision run with the ball get tackled move the chains and get up and lead the team.

Now it's hard to say exactly where he is in the pack because he doesn't run enough anymore.

Make no mistake if we are to make and advance in the playoffs Dak is going to need to be able to make some plays with his legs.

His last good run was against Washington, the one where he was running down field but very slowly

Great job on pointing this out, Dak running the ball is like Tom Brady running it, to be who he is you would think he be more agile, he's slow, they've told him not to run at times

Dak's mobility is not an issue. His ability to move in the pocket is. Being able to sense where to slide to in the pocket, right , left, step up is far more important for a QB than being able to run a 4.4 40. Brady and Rodgers are both very good, Romo was very good at it. Dak just doesn't have a good feel or pocket awareness. His mobility to get outside the pocket is as good as anyone. He can run just fine when he needs/wants to. I would like to see him move around in the pocket better and help his OL out.
