How did we get so bad from 1 season to the next?

Two gross drafts in a row. At least so far. For a team that operates the way Dallas does, this is probably the biggest one.

Waiting until the last possible minute to hand out mega extensions they were gonna pay anyway. You're doing nothing essentially this year with the cap space that those created.

The RB room. All would be forgiven there if they had just stuck with Rico and grabbed a guy this year in the mid rounds.

Having the worst interior DL that I think I've ever seen.

Keeping McCarthy and his merry gang of yes men and 'glad-to-be-here' coaches.
and wait until Jerry makes Parsons the highest paid D player in the league. We will have 3 players eating up 150 million a year.

A lot of the team personnel left because Jerry waited until the last second to sign Dak.
Or......they just didn't want to hitch up to this loser again. But I think you can point to losing Quinn as the biggest reason....Zimmer can't scheme....nor matchup.

The NFL is the most year to year league. Good teams go to crap and crap teams get good every year.

Yes they have but that's not what this thread is about.
He asked why the team has had a drop off so badly in performance from 2023 to 2024.

You picked the first sentence in a post and tried to dunk on it.

Dallas lost a lot of players and replaced them with players that aren't as good. Not sure what you're not understanding. You can shift the narrative wherever you'd like, but among many other things, there is a talent problem here.

We look like one of the worst teams in the NFL.

Question how do we look so bad after coming off of 3 twelve win seasons?

On offense we mainly have the same guys minus LT Tyron Smith and Center Tyler Biadasz.

And on defense I know we are missing our best players for most of the season (to be honest when we had the starters we haven't looked good on defense except when we played the Browns) but man this defense is the worst Cowboys defense I've seen in a while. Was Dan Quinn play calling and scheme really making this defense seem wayyyy better than what they truly are? I guess we are really missing Sam Williams, Dorrance Armstrong, and Dante Fowler Jr. this season. BTW Dante Fowler Jr. plays starting strong side backer for the Commanders.
Everyone literally improved their team and they got worse. It’s that simple.

No one was injured when we got blown out by the Saints ........ who just lost to the Panthers

We fattened up on a weak schedule last year and slept through the offseason.

Easy look at the players we lost. People just listen to Jerry and the whole "all in," but look at who we lost and what we gained.

The conference was really bad - QBs in particular - for several years when we were cruising to 12 wins. But that's over. It was a freak thing. We are doomed for a number of years.
