How did you guys feel about Turpins usage?

I’m not for it as of now. I’d rather see Rico and Deuce more. I’m always afraid he will fumble.

Felt like a higher volume of touches than I'd prefer, but hard to argue with it.

I don't like him getting those touches around the goalline, he can't finish.

how do you know he cant finish? I thought he finished last night when he crossed the goal liine.

I'm in favor of using him more, just not out of the backfield taking touches away from Deuce.

I don't think he is a better RB (not even close) and he isn't a better receiver (not even close) than Deuce either.

I hope it was just an effort to cover some of the stuff they have for Deuce.

so once again a fan thinks he knows more than coaches? they chose this particular game to work on those plays and then teams look for these formations and then MM will flip it around later and that formation will be bomb downfield....

why do you think it's taking place away from deuce Vaughn? there's games he will get packages but this game MM decided to get KT involved something you hardly saw from MOORE..DV will get his shots..only so many balls to go around. trust our super bowl winning coach and play caller... i think they got it handled i think .... what they think should have happened..

I was saying a similar thing last night. Inside 7 yards or so, you should usually use guys with more power. But the play he scored on was nice...though I didn't like that he let up a little too soon, for my taste. I hope he doesn't have to learn the hard way.

I like the idea but Deuce should have had some carries early on, not withstanding the late carries he got because it was a blowout. I think they need to balance the Dowdle/Turpin carries with Deuce.

Deuce was in a horrible situation to show what he can do. Last night the defense knew we werent throwing and just running the clock out. Just take a knee instead of pounding Deuce into that line 3 straight times.

yeah but it doesn't hurt to get a little contact in a wet game.. Deuce von will get his touches later in the year with some packages..

I think having him carry the ball as a RB is putting unneeded risk on your Pro Bowl Returner. I'd rather have Deuce get those touches, that is his wheelhouse. If you want to get Turpin the ball, I say sprinkle him in as a WR.

I suspect there is a reason. Some plays are to setup other plays. If you only use him on jet sweeps then teams know that. I don’t think he’s gonna be running up the middle much but it does make it harder to key on what he does at any one time

It’s fine. There will be weeks where he’s on the field and he doesn’t get touches but you can’t even make him a threat for the defense unless you put film of him actually getting touches out there.

Last year when he came on the field you know there was a chance he’s getting the ball or there would be some trick play so to speak. By letting him get some actual design calls- you can see if he’s actually a weapon and also give the defense something to actually think about.

I stand by my statement that you need to stay in your lane you're not a coach you're not a professional and you're not correct in this situation.. We don't know what Turpin can do we're just now seeing that and that was what the coaches point was to start calling these plays in this game....... So again stay in your lane dude you're sounding like a know it all like you have this giant head and your ego and you think you're right and you're not.. There will be plenty of game situations where deuce fawn will get his chance and we will see.. We are giving teams more to think about and we're practicing plays we otherwise could not in a closer game.... Now you are right in hindsight you were not right about the game plan or the way they looked at the game things change..... Blind squirrel can find a nut clocks right twice a day when broken yeah we got all the saying but you ain't a coach and you are not better than what the coaching staff can bring...

Now take your ego somewhere else before you really get me going... Go play some Madden and some fantasy football and just stay in your lane.

Seems like they were making a concerted effort to manufacture touches for the guy, and I’m a fan of it. Just another wrinkle for the defense to have to consider and worry about. Didn’t provide any crazy results but I think it could pay dividends

I like the fact they want him involved and his TD play was a lot of him willing his way across the goalline. I also like seeing Deuce get tough touches to end the game. It serves to build up the coaches trust in him. Now they have to find a way to get him a crease or the ball in space. Both those guys can have an impact.

My guess is that we have so many mouths to feed that he better show some difference making or his opportunities will be limited.
