How do we fix our red zone issues on both sides of the football?

The copium is amusing

Commodes had an excellent season and earned their wins.

We stank; just how many games did we get BLOWN OUT?

Quality teams do not get blown out five times in a season. And a couple more that were just about that.

The commodes WORST LOSS was 17 pts.
WE LOST BY MORE THAN THAT FIVE TIMES

On offense get some speed at the RB position and WR . James Cook is just dynamite in that Bills offense to get to the edge and make defenses pay .

Dowdle has proven effective between the tackles can catch out of the backfield and Jerry needs to reward him . In the draft get your version of Cook by taking Sampson out of Tenn . Gibbs Montgomery Dowdle Sampson

At WR Lamb on one side needs help on the other to relieve double teams a Matthew Golden out of Texas has speed to make defenses pay attention . In a 3 WR set in the red zone go Lamb with Tolbert slot and Golden opposite Lamb.

Nacua Kupp. AJ Brown Smith . Lamb Golden .

I want a defensive play wrecker round one a Walker out of GA a hybrid but guys like Golden & Sampson can go 2nd 3rd round to help the O. Every other draft pick should be spent on D

The only players that I would take from the Commanders over what we have is the two defensive tackles. I am leaving quarterback out of the argument. Coaching? We have no coaches.
The Commanders have a better OL, RB room, DL and LBr room.

Shroud played excellent considering the circumstances. His team was hit hard with injuries and he beat Harbaugh/Herbert combination in the playoffs. Things are looking great for Houston moving forward. Two division titles in two years with two playoff victories is impressive. They don’t do that with another quarterback.

Man imagine if some of our fans had the mindset with our QB lol.

Offense

-We need a running back who has a nose for the end zone. A double digit rushing TD type, not a back who has less then 5 in a season.

Jeanty, Hampton, Johnson all are excellent fits.

-Really need that big, athletic receiver threat who dominates inside the red zone. Teams will look to take away Lamb. Ferguson has been a downgrade from Shultz.

T-Mac would be the perfect fit. Savion Williams, Ayomanor, Tyler Warren, Fannin Jr would be excellent fits.

Defense

-Defense needs to create more tackles for loss and not give up easy rushing touchdowns. They lead the league in giving up the most rushing TD's.

Graham, Harmon, Grant, Williams, Campbell LB
I think Smith will continue to improve. Im actually pretty confident he will a good defender next year. Its against the pass where I dont expect any impact. Even with that and potentially extending Odighizuwa, I think we should be looking heavily at DT's in the top 50. Both 3T's like Harmon and Nolan amd 1T's like Grant and Williams. Graham will be out of range unless they want to sacrifice a #2 pick

Fix the trenches first. None of the other stuff will matter until we do that. Desperately need DTs and better OLs.
I think we can afford a punt on OL. At least considering the other wholes we have. We have a few guys on the OL that showed they were at least playable and could develop further

If we were stronger elsewhere, Id be advocating heavily for OL

Team's biggest weakness remains their lack of run defense. This is the draft to finally fix this area of need. They can wait to rd 2, due to the depth, but have to make it a priority even if they resign Osa who I am still the fence with.

Dak has been a top 10 quarterback his whole career in Dallas. Sadly he has been part of the playoff disasters. I am a Dak Stan but I think his lack of mobility is a red flag moving forward. I don’t think it ends well for him here. If Dallas drafted a quarterback in the first round and they had Dak type career numbers, the fan base would give him a stature. I will never understand the hate for this man.

If Jerry doesn’t change his FA philosophy it doesn’t matter what QB is next…we just watched Lamar lose with better weapons, better defense, better coaching etc…

I know I sound like a homer with this statement but the Cowboys have had bad playoff luck. Any of those 12 win teams under McCarthy would have wiped the floor with Tampa and Detroit. Daniels would have just been a cool story if Mariota doesn’t throw that last second touchdown pass against us. In Dak’s playoff career he started against prime Rodgers, a loaded Rams and 49ers team. Just tough luck.

If we just don’t give up 30+ points in every playoff loss Dak is probably crowned instead of killed.

Wouldn’t it be nice if Dak could throw for 150 yards and win in the playoffs like Jalen?

Hurts won a playoff game with under 100 yards passing I believe as well. Listen I get the hate for Moore if he becomes the head coach but he is a good offensive coordinator and is respected by the players. The Cowboys could do worse. Plus you don’t want to start over with a new offensive scheme at Dak’s age and coming of an injury. The problem is the owner/front office as always for the last 30 years.

My only gripe with Kellen is the same thing as MM…shrinks in big games. He had ZERO answers for the 49ers twice.

He’ll be great in the regular season and mediocre in the playoffs…but maybe that’s partially a lack of talent.

McCarthy, Kellen, and Quinn all had the same thing in common. The Jones boys decide their talent. I think you and I agree that since Dak has been here the Cowboys teams have actually over achieved. Especially on the defensive middle. We have always had average to below average middle linebacker, defensive tackle, and safety play. On offense besides the 2021/2022 team we have lacked explosiveness at the receiver position.

his turnovers and pick 6 contributed to those thirty point scores, something you seem to forget

You can remove every turnover we’ve had in the playoffs and in most of those Ls the D has been horrible.

Actually the only one where they were horrible was GB

with a better offense we could have won the others and that in the end came down to Dak more than any other player

Strongly disagree with that assessment. Moving along.

Well Washington just destroyed the theory that you have to be able to stop the run, have to a great offensive line, need offensive weapons, have a great running back, and have a great coaching staff. It’s all about the quarterback. You don’t have one, you are cooked. The great quarterback seem to overcome perceived weaknesses.
One game doesn't destroy any theory.
