If TGs isnt around game 1?

Dont know that I agree with BPs move to start Hurd and keep Crayton in the slot as the #3.

I start the best players and fill in with Hurd and Isiah. Maybe line up with Wit WR. Or even TT!

Glenn is our speed receiver. No speed receiver means:

#1 Owens (responsibilities do not change)
#2 Hurd (downfield threat/offense will adjust to his lack of speed to stretch the field)
#3 Crayton (responsibilities do not change)

Presently, that's the best combo if Glenn's unavailable. Stanback isn't ready for primetime yet, and it's not necessary to rush him into that role--especially against a divisional opponent when experience will matter most.

Witten may line up at wideout regardless of Glenn's health status, but only in certain situations to create mismatches with the defense. You also do not want to take your tight end out of blocking situations if needed.

Tyson Thompson? Please.

Edit: This was last season? Nevermind. :banghead:

Did Parcells say he's play Hurd in TG's place and keep Crayton at #3 WR? I thought i heard Dave Campo say it would be Crayton in the #2 WR possition.

What part is confusing? Last year when Glenn was out BP started Hurd over the #3 WR claiming he didnt want to disrupt the rotation. To which I responded "this aint basketball!".

Look like we will be faced with the same situation to begin the season. Who do you think Wade starts? Crayton or Hurd?

Have another drink! LOL! I was referring to last year.

i disagree what we put on paper will pan out in the manner you'd think "logic" would dictate.

if glenn is out, one of the two will step up. i'd say crayton for now cause he's got the experience and he's continuing down that path.

you put your best players out there and let htem play. you don't put your best "according to plan A" out there. or, "we have this and we need this..."

the best players will play regardless of "speed" or whatever other factor we can imagine in a newsgroup.

So you agree with they we played it last year? Interesting. The difference in speed between the 2 is negligible.

Ita nice to have a TE who can run a little. I am pretty sure TG will be either out/or limited for a game or 2. We may indeed need the depth fasano offers.

I was kidding about TT. He has speed.

WHAT THE HELL does what Parcells think, have ANY bearing on Wade? Have you heard Wade say IF TG is out for game 1, they will start Hurd @ #2 WR??

Do the caps mean you really serious? LOL!

I didnt say anything about what BP thinks. Thats they way he played it last year. I have no idea what Wade's plans are for game 1. Did he say? I mean SAY?

I had no clue as you referenced BP. You may want to include "last year" when posting "this" year. ;)

Well, I kinda thought that was obvious, seeing that he isnt here this year, LOL! But your not alone in being confused. My apologies!

No prob. it's just that sometimes we get alcohol enhanced posts and, no offense, I was kinda leaning that way. Apologies.

I pray it's Crayton. He's clutch and has better hands. Hurd ain't no slouch by any stretch but right now Crayton is better. Crayton reminds me a lot of Novacek in that he seems to find those sweet spots where the defense isn't. JMO.

I agree. I would hope its Crayton. Last year I assumed Hurd had the speed when BP started him but to be honest he isnt any faster than Crayton.

I hate to say it but we better be prepared. Its unlikely our starters play all 16. We should be OK on depth.

God, I hope TG is fine! TO will get the heck doubled out of him if not!

I think Wade's already made it clear that Crayton steps into Glenn's role and Hurd plays #3.

Why make Crayton learn a bunch of new routes at the last minute? I'm no wr coach but it just seems to me Hurd is a plug in and a darn good one, the guy makes plays..

Crayton has been playing both on the outside and in the slot since Glenn has been out and he has been the league long enough to understand the routs. For the most part in a 2 WR set it has been TO and Crayton on the outside and when Hurd is brought in Crayton moves inside.

I do like what Crayton gives us in the slot, his understanding of how to get opened there is something I like. However, I would go with Crayton as the 2, and when Hurd comes in, I'd move Hurd to the outside and Crayton to the slot, so basically Crayton plays every down.
