How do we stop Westbrook??

The Eagles O and the Giants O is so much more in synch then ours. Players are just left wide open. The plays called are perfect.

the eagles o has been together for the most part, several years. the giants o is in their 2nd year together, besides Burress. Drew is in his first year with the team, and I think he's all outperformed our expectations. if he had been with the cowboys the past few years, our o would be much more in synch also.

LT is 5 times the RB he is, and 3 times the WR he is and we contained him.

but then again, Lamont Jordan is nothing special and he ran all over us. So it depends what defense shows up.

I disagree. While LT is definitely much more talented than Westbrook, the way the Eagles use Westbrook turns him into a weapon. I agree with the person that said he's basically impossible to stop. If we can hold him to 100 total yards, I'll be satisfied.

Sniper on the roof.

The man is dangerous because of the passing game. Against the Eagles, opposing defenses have got to play against the pass. So Westbrook is always potentially capable of making a play.

Andy Reid is the smart, humbler Mike Martz. The Eagles are pass crazy. It's just that Reid is careful not to let his ego get in the way. He picks they right plays.

How do we stop Westbrook???

Start a fight with him during pregame warmups. That's how.

C'mon ogbogu, protect this house.

If it were me, Aaron Glenn would spend the entire game shadowing Westbrook all over the field. I would stay in nickel and move Roy up into the box and let or DB's play man-to-man. WHat can it hurt? We have not beaten them in so long, it couldn't hurt...

ya but do you realize how bad Glenn would get shook out of his old shoes. hes gonna break an ankle guarding westbrook. we should shadow him with dat. but i agree about us playing nickel the whole game, or at least a large portion. 2-4-5 would be best imo to have linebackers there to stop westbrooks outside runs and dumpoffs. not like they have anyone who is athreat to run up the middle.

If you don't mind having some fun with this, I'll add my persspective -- I mean no disrespect ...

How to stop Westbrook ...

- Offer him a better contract than his existing one

- Forget about T.O. and double team him

- Hire someone from Desperate Housewives to "delay him" in the locker room

- Punch him in the face, and start a fight during the coin toss

- totally ignore him because he's not a threat

The real question should be ...How to stop the Philadelphia Eagles!

The Niners ran all over us too...its a serious problem when you cant stop the run a lick against two teams that couldnt run the ball a lick coming into our game

our defense still stinks against the run and the pass...better players...new scheme...same coordinator....dont see why some cant see the forest for the trees here

true they did run very well teh first half, but i think that was mostly due to the lloyd td and their passing game doing so well that first half.

I want Roy locked up on Westbrook EVERY SINGLE PLAY. I want Newman or Henry to shadow TO ALL DAY, and I want Davis/Pile deep.

The forest is still in the same valley, why does that get no blame?

We have a great shot of WINNING!

If...Someone tells the clueless wuss zimmy that the game is in Filthy....AND sends him a one way ticket out of Dallas!

I'm guessing Zipperhead will find a way to screw up the coverage D.

I'll be sick if we end up with Ware and Davis trying to cover Westbrook or TO. Why not use your Corners to cover the best players?

Run and Shot (West Coast Offense) Defense

Containing Westbrook is no easy accomplishment. However, it can be done. Depending on the "look" the Cowboys give us, we'll execute accordingly. What I'm saying is if the defensive "look" is pass defense, Lamar Gordon or Westbrook will lineup in a RB configuration -- but don't forget, Lamar also receives well.

Pass Defense
As such, this opens up the field for Lewis and T.O. to get involved down field. I don't think Bill Parcels will commit to man-to-man, that would be a mistake, but even i a zone configuration the Eagles would kill you underneath.

Blitz Packages

You may have some success trying to blitz McNabb; however, screen passes could be damaging, especially if Westbrook gets his hands on the ball and a few key blocks from Gordon.

I don't know what your offense has, but you can count on some turnovers from Kearse, Brown, Sheppard and possibly Trotter.

We will be watching out for Roy (the demon) Williams -- that's a bad man!

Good hunting; or not.

I would play you all the same way Atl. did. Let Henry shadow T.O. and put our best coverage LB on Westbrook.

Who is our best coverage LB? Is it Ware? Dat? Shanle?

I know without question it's not Al or Brady, and I haven't seen enough of Fajita.

If we somehow manage to stop westbrook in the run and passing game, if we somehow keep TO in check.

Then LJ Smith is gonna have a big night.

He was a bit of a downer for the eagles last year but right many may be surprised to know that...

So far this season LJ Smith ...

Leads ALL TEs in the NFL with 26 Receptions.
Is second in the NFL in yards.
Is tied for Second in the NFL in TDs with two.

You somehow hold those other two in check, LJ is gonna have a field day.
