Lots of talk about Belicheat coming to coach our Cowboys. Both in the media and especially in here. How about a sort of mid-season bye week poll to see what everyone is thinking? It's not a given that McCarthy will be gone after this season. However, if he is, then a replacement is needed. So, how do you feel about Belicheat as the successor to McCarthy? Only one vote and it will be visible publicly.

Why not? The Big Top needs new acts on occasion….

I would say absolutely not if this were a normal team with the GM not being the owner but here we are. We won’t get that innovative, young HC that we all desire. So, BB just might have enough clout to build an actual defense that this team desperately needs to lead a Dak led offense.

I don’t know or really care anymore because this team isn’t run by football people.

I was luke warm. My preference is a younger coach who runs the Shanahan system.

That said if we were to hire BB he would probably be more in control of the actual coaching and running the team. He has enough credibility Jerry may have to back off. If BB can function more as BP did before leaving he could be a great hire.

I’d take him over whatever puppet Jerry would probably prefer.
Bingo. We could hire an up and comer, but what does that accomplish? McCarthy is a Super Bowl winning coach, and now serves as a puppet for ol Jerrah. A young guy with no HC experience would turn out just like Garrett. We need someone with the reputation and skins that can tell JJ to sit down and shut up when he's out of pocket. There are two of them available. Nick and Bill. One of them is the most successful NFL HC ever. Easy choice.

He’s a better coach than McCarthy but a new head coach doesn’t fix our biggest problem(s).

He had the Patriots playing lousy when Brady left. He's not the miracle coach without Brady. Why would we expect him to turn around Dallas?
Who did he have? Mac Jones was his best QB after Tommy left. His defenses were still good, but you can only do so much without an NFL QB.

So many questions. Length of contract? Can Bill hire/fire his own staff? Will they commit to getting the players he wants? If Bill wants to change the defense and they only want to draft players this will take all 5+ years to rebuild. Are they willing to try something bold like trade parsons for picks? Just getting Bill isn't enough, it has to be an entire overhaul or it will not make much of a difference.

He's not who I prefer but I think it's got a good possibility of happening. I'm starting to get behind it.

It'd be frustrating though. If Jerry was going to go this direction should've pulled the trigger a year early and started the rebuild before 2024 rather than have a wasted season loaded with lame ducks.

I don't even believe they deserve to be called lame ducks. This deserve much worst!

My vote was a no vote. BB was a HC in Cleveland and failed miserably. He went to New England as Parcells’ DC. Parcells built that team. when Parcells left all they needed was a top-notch QB. Brady stepped in and they rolled. The winning culture was a Parcells creation that was self-perpetuating. All BB had to do was keep the defense working and stay out of Brady’s way.
There is no winning culture here, there is no defense, and there there is no Brady. (That is not a knock on Dak).
I’d take BB as a DC, but not as a HC.
