that's a bummer. Sorry to hear that. You can tell UPS or FedEx not to leave packages, to require you to pick it up at their center if you're not home.

Currently, Samsung filed a claim with UPS and it is currently being "investigated". Waiting to hear back from that.

I'm a ups driver.. you can request for your address to be " no driver release" and we won't just leave packages there without a signature Or signed info notice. Or you can have a box with an open lock so we can put your package there and lock it up.

the porch box idea has some merit. i don't want to have to be there for when ups comes by - just not practical. but also what else can they do to deliver the package then?

any idea of the police ever follow UPS trucks around to catch people stealing as you drop 'em off?

That's the biggest issue with signature required packages. It's a pain in the rear for you guys and us. A lot of times it gets sent back to the shipper because you only get 3 attempts. The box idea is the way to go. I see some real nice elaborate ones. Just make sure theres a sign on it because that says something like " attention ups FedEx and USPS all deliveries go here. Please lock thank you"
Or something like that because you need to get our attention or else it'll be left anywhere on the front porch.

now i need to find something i can put on my porch that looks good and can hold big enough boxes to make it worthwhile.

i could ask them to put things in the backyard, they've done it before. but now i have a dog and she goes in and out at will. would *never* hurt anyone but you don't know that and if you don't shut the gate right (it can sometimes be a pain) she could get out - so that's not really a good option either.
