Probably the same as me. I predicted 16-0.

I wouldn't get carried away...7-9 is definitely in jeopardy but let's not sweep under the rug how difficult December is going to be and, honestly, has been.

Things look very good now...Romo just has to show he can be Mr. December too

Whether Romo is Mr. December or not, the Cowboys will win more than 7 games this season. Emmitt was wrong about the talent and heart of this team. Period.

No offense, but this is not "that" team. This team is very different and the time of year won't mean anything barring schedule difficulty or injuries.

I think it's a prediction and nothing more. In other words, entirely meaningless and ... who really cares?

7-9 was a fair prediction to start the season IMO. So was 8-8, 9-7 and any other number of calls. Emmitt's was critical, to be sure, but not unfair. Now, 3-13 would have had my eyes bugging out.

Really? Why? Why would you believe the Cowboys would only manage 7 wins. I'm curious. Smith is a bitter old man that was cut by us. He sounds like an idiot any time he speaks. His analytical skills flat out suck. So why would you consider anything he says legit?

I'm impressed with the growth in the team since the opening day win against Tampa Bay...But until December sees a different team, I'm still not going to prematurely annoint them anything.

Let's see what they actually do

There is still room on the bandwagon for fair weather fans. Get on before it is too late.

That is because 3/4 of the people posting here have no idea what they are talking about.

Doubtful...Too many schizo fans who get on and off as the wind blows...I'm not prone to emotionally labile fits of glory/doom...I go by what I see and they're better, right now...I also know I've seen this play before which is why I need to see them play this way when it matters most...No one crowns a champion in November

I got ya. Just tired of the doom and gloom folks. I think we are going to be just fine in December. Last night was not the prettiest game but Romo and the D got it done. They are growing into a very formidable team. I do not believe the issues we have had late the last couple of seasons have to do with when we played them, but how we prepared and executed. Those losses could have happened at any point in the season, not because of the month they were played in.

The good is obviously that the team is rolling up wins and that they are in sole possession of the NFC East...The really good is that they still haven't hit on all cylinders yet which can mean they will get better still (i.e. December)...But I wanna see that before I start talking Superbowls etc.

It's coming together

I would imagine like all those guys, he probably doesnt even remember what his prediction was.

Dumb butt sanders said all hell would break loose by week 7 or 8 without buffalo bill and that romo and witten were not good enough to help this team.....He is a complete moron and it is insulting that he is a tv analyst.

Yeah these guys have to be back peddeling now.

Their lack of confidence in our receivers spread to our fan base as well and made for an absolutely obnoxious offseason here on the Zone from our own fans.

All of a sudden Dallas has an abudence of weapons.

Who really cares whay Emmit has to say? The dude talks like a high school drop out.
If he's talking about anything else, there may not be that many who care. However, people will always care what Emmitt Smith, Michael Irvin, Troy Aikman, Jimmy Johnson,Roger Staubach, Tony Dorsett, Bob Lilly, Rayfield Wright, etc., etc., have to say about the Dallas Cowboys.

These players were Dallas Cowboys legends. A fan's personal dislike for a particular legend doesn't really factor in at all.

I predicted 11-5 and I think I'm still right.

That would mean a December collapse. The next three games against Green Bay, Washington and Oakland should all be wins. That would be 9-2. If I'm right and the boys sweep those three games, this is probably a 12-4 or 13-3 season.

I think after the offseason we had -- one in which we focused on dismissing petulant but skilled players -- there was a lot of uncertainty surrounding this franchise. Truthfully, did you never wonder what the offense might look like without T.O.? Did you have that much trust in Roy? Did you know Austin would step up?

Not to mention what I think was the crutch of Emmitt's argument: That 44-6 loss exposed the underbelly of what was a gutless Cowboys team and that the loss, coupled with the dismal way we shut down Texas Stadium, would transfer over to the 2009 season.

No, I don't think taking that "leap" was unfair -- Romo's winning percentage be damned.

To be noted, as I said before, I also would not have found a 9-7 or 10-6 prediction to be unfair. Yes, I think it was fair to question this team's mindset and offensive ability given the Eagles loss and T.O.'s departure, respectively.
I posted this eight months ago:

Certainly, some had little faith in the '09 wide receiver corps. Others had the exact opposite impression early on. In other words, some took the wait-and-see approach. Others already knew. It happens.
