This guy is straight up the best cb in the league. When I see a long ball going to his side, I get excited instead of scared. Newman does scare me. Jenkins is physical, fast, and a ball hawk. Im hoping for his jersey on X-mas..

Experts have to see this guy is the real deal and vote him in.. I could see him having a charles woodson type of career.

I actually have Revis ranked #1 now because he's a straight up ball hawk and play maker. He also has great size, good speed, and is very physical.

As for getting a Jenkins jersey, I don't see any places that sell them online. Do they sell them at the stadium?

Jenkins is awesome, but where are people coming from when they say he's the best or at the top of the league? Statistically, he's only good. There are a lot of guys doing way better. Ever heard of Buf's Jarius Byrd leading the league in Ints? Or how about Jonathon Joseph who has more picks, more tackles, more pass breakups, and fumble recoveries, and more touchdowns than Jenkins?

Don't judge based on reputations, go look at the stats.

Put away the anointing oil, fellas. I like Jenkins as much as the next fan, but here in NYC we get to see Darrelle Revis play for the Jets. He is better than Jenkins. Also I would say Charles Woodson, Nmandi Asoamugha and Antonio Cromartie are still better too.

Cromartie has really regressed.

Jenkins will probably have to wait a year.

But if he starts getting toasted hell get noticed. The Deangelo Hall strategy!

I loved that break up jenkins had last year vs the eagles where the WR got a step on him but jenkins made it up and at the last second dove and tipped the ball away from him, had he not made that play its a walk in td. anyone happen to have a gif of that?

Yup. they are. Call me crazy but I think Scandrick might even be a little better than Jenkins. Playing as the slot/Nickel DB is a beyotch. I've played it in college and its tough.

scandrick is not a good player at all. maybe in time, but right now he is awful.

Uh, those stats you just listed aren't exactly the best way of determining a corner's worth.

I like the kid a lot, but I can't call him the best CB in the NFL. Best on our team, you bet. I don't think he is top 5 yet.

Pro Bowl? I think he might.

Ah, sadly no I am not. Just think he has a lot of potential. But if I was related, I would ask for a red Mercerdes Benz SLS-AMG. That automobile is gorgeous. Would fit nicely in my garage.

YOU should go to nfl.com and look up Byrd.

He's listed as a FS.

To answer the question, and assuming that he is worthy of consideration, he might not make the Pro Bowl because he is in just his second season and doesn't have a reputation around the league. He has never been in a No. 1 cornerback role where he is asked to shadow and shut down the opponent's top receiver (Newman has had that task this season). And Jenkins isn't anywhere close to the top of the fan voting, so he won't get a bump from that.

Players often don't go until a year or two after they're first deserving. Newman had a much better season in 2005 than Jenkins has had this season, and he didn't go to the Pro Bowl until after the 2007 season.

The three NFC cornerbacks when the team is announced almost certainly will be Charles Woodson, Antoine Winfield and Asante Samuel. Jenkins' best hope will be to go as a replacement.

I love Jenkins as much as the next guy, but Revis is the best CB in the league, next is Woodson, then Asoughma(sp?).

I think there are some others you need to check out before making that bold of a statement.

Side note. Do you think Newman's frustration can also be attributed to the fact that fans and the media are calling Jenkins our team's best corner.

Newman is a very good CB, not great - but good. He doesn't make many plays, and he was already old when he came into the league. I'm concerned that he's peaked and is on the downside of his career.

Jenkins makes the plays that we've been dying to see from Newman. Not just a shutdown corner, but a guy that makes plays, jumps routes, and has swag.

I agree but I'll add if Jenkins continues to play this way he'll be in more than 1 Pro Bowl game before it's all over.

He is the best in the NFC but Darrell Reeves is the best in the league imo

asomugha is better, years of consistent shutdown cornering beats a 1 year rise who has missed 2 picks that were in his hands that I could've cought.

IMo if Revis made that pick vs the Falcons the Jets would be 8-6, just another example of overrated Corner.

Asomugha would've made the pick.

Why you guys always feel the need to our cornerbacks with the best corners around the league? He's a great corner and great for the team. How many of y'all actually thought he was any good after last season probably not many especially after that Giants game.
