How good are the Giants?

How good can you consider yourself based only on beating the Cardinals, Saints, and Rams?

The NFL's #28, #30th, and #31st defenses in points allowed per game?

Not saying that the Giants don't have anything to do with that, but come on... all of those defenses suck, and that is quite established.

The one good team they played, they got dominated. A team we beat by the way.

Cowboys need to treat them as a 3-1 team and the current division leader they are. Yes Dallas can beat the Giants but I expect the Giants to give us their best shot and we better be ready for it.

I seriously think we will be ready.

We've faced better offenses, and MUCH better defenses.

I see us coming out early again.

I think we can win as well but I expect a fight from the Giants and do not see them as a push over.

You could say the same about the Colts. They can only play who's on their schedule. What's important is that if you're supposed to beat them, you do.

We haven't done that. By all rights, we should've treated the Skins like a junior college football team, but we didn't. We lost. But then we turnaround and smoke the Eagles.

This is gonna be a good test for the Cowboys, because the Giants have consistently hung points on opponents.

Yes and that chargers team is playing a lot better now than when we faced them.

Better give the Giants their props. We lost to Washington and Oakland ... two teams we should have murdered.

I'm confident in a win but have two major concerns, on defense we have to show we can stop the run and doing that against Barber would be a major indicator that our young defense is starting to put it all together. Burnett was excellent on special teams and I hope to see him get a lot of reps with the D.
Offensively I think we have a lot of ways to attack the Giants, they have a lot of problems with their corners and to see the way Tomlinson treated them, we should see JJ get his first 100 yard game. The one worry I have is Strahan could have a big day against Pettiti and disrupt the offense. Still, I think the game plan we had against Kearse will work on him too.

I am not sure how good the Giants are yet.

I do know they scare me a little bit, and we better come with our "A" Game.

They also always play good against us.

This should be a good one.

What a big game. If we can win this one we have the ability to take control of this division.

I don't care what anybody says....this Giant team is a good team that is well coached.

Looking at past games they have had earlier this season means nothing, everybody should realize by now that anything can happen in this league, and usually does. Every week is different, every game is different, and the outcomes can no longer be reliably predicted.

The Giants will be up for this game big time, as will Dallas. Both teams are playing well, so to say that NY hasn't faced as stiff as competition is premature. They gameplan according to the opponant, and they are 3-1.

This will be a great division game and I hope payback is in order.

I think our corners can handle their receivers. I'm not as confident in us being able to handle Shockey nor in handling Tiki either as a runner or a receiver. I think they'll score 21 on us... but I think we can score at least 28 on them.

BP will be up to beat his old team. He bleeds blue but now just a different shade.

I think the NYGs game will be tough. We haven't faced a TE like Shockey (big, fast, athletic), a RB like Barber (quick, elusive), or a LDE like Strahan (big, strong, and fast). They will present challenges. However, I think our O matches up well against their D if Petitti gets some help with Strahan. I agree with MSW that they will hang a score on us.

yeah but they did beat those teams badly, which means they did what they were supposed to do...

and by the way, the Cardinals just destroyed the Niners, a team we barely beat

.

I totally agree...Coughlin has done a good job with them...they outplayed and outcoached us in both games last year

we cant start slowly against them or we'll be in big trouble...they can pass and run equally well and will probably be a bigger challenge for our defense than the one dimensional Eagles were

Be very wary of their opponents' defensive rankings this early in the season. Factor out what the Giants did against them and then see where they rank.

And Manning is starting to hit his stride.
Making good connections with the receivers.
Burris is having a good year with him so far.
They are better on the O side right now that the Eagles are.
They have a high quality TE and a good O line.
Good running back combo.

Don't overlook them. :starspin

The Giants are ready to punch their ticket to detroit, but i'm not concerned with them. We will put up at least 30+ on their ragged defense, the question is whether or not we slow them down enough. I just think that Manning is getting more hype than he deserves, at least in this point of his career. He put up a lot of numbers in garbage time against the chargers, and also played solid against a bad rams defense. If he puts up 300+ against us then i will be impressed.

Don't kid yourself, the Giants have a LOT to do with those defensive rankings. I knew Plaxico Burress was a monster and that the Steelers were bad-mouthing him to drive his market value down. New York reaped those rewards big time. Now they have the best overall offensive skill positions in football with Manning coming into his own.

The Dallas offense has to take control of this game for Dallas to win and they must stop Tiki Barber on defense. If we play our game and stop Tiki, we win.

I cannot remember the last time Tiki Barber did not have a good game against us.
