Yup but everyone in our division plays those teams too. Denver at home in the first month with that talent , very very hard to beat. I see a
3-2 record with those teams

Other than Atlanta and GB, those could the difference in the division in my opinion.

When was the last time Dallas had a championship caliber defense? It's been years. You don't compete for titles with bad defense. Offense only gets you so far.

And let's kill one little storyline here.

It's not that we lost in Denver. It's that we got exposed and blown off the field. That's where the problems come in. We wouldn't be doing this today if we had lost a hard fought, close game in a hostile environment.

Instead, we got blown off the field where all our flaws were clearly exposed - lack of pass rush, poor, soft secondary play, poor game planning and lack of adjustments, etc.

Yes we definitely did. Just hopefully we learn from this and Zeke explodes in week 3 like he did last year

Right now this team is an eight (8) or nine (9) win team. I predicted 10-6 before the season but that has gone down due to yesterday.

If the oline doesn't perform well Dallas will lose. That's the only way Jason can win as a head coach in my opinion.

Where was this question after week 1? It's still the same team, folks. So they have things to correct... they'll do it and get better. I still think the Cowboys will win there division. They are still among the NFC elite. I still think the Cowboys will beat any AFC team in a neutral environment.

I think this game will open some eyes, I just got this feel with dak, he will learn from this..he won't play a secondary on that level the rest of the year either

Good enough to dominate a bad team one week and bad enough to get dominated against a good team the following week.

IOW...middle of the pack.

As of right now yes. But I'm confident the young bucks will grow quick.. they have no choice now. Jaylon Smith will have a bounce back game next week

As more data comes in, people can start to form better opinions. It's quite possible that Week 1 saw us play a true crap opponent. If the Giants get mashed by Detroit tonight, people should really start to worry. A lot of people are hanging their hats on a Week 1 win over what they think is a good Giants team.

Maybe that Giants team is awful?

Yep.

8-9 maybe 10 wins. Fighting for our playoff lives.

That's not what I expected after a 13 win season.

At Atlanta
At Raiders

Vs Green Bay
Vs KC
Vs Seattle

The schedule doesn't get much easier as the year goes on.
I see the Falcons as the class of the conference right now and even they struggled against the lowly Bears in week one. GB got their butts handed to them yesterday, Seattle got their butts handed to them by GB in week one and eeked out a 3 point win against lowly SF yesterday. It's waaaay too early to say who is good or bad right now, but nobody in the NFC is overpowering. Our 'Boys aren't as bad as they looked yesterday and aren't as good as they looked against the Giants (especially on defense). Our team was a perfect storm of poorness yesterday and I would be shocked if they even approach anything like yesterday's debacle again this year. Philly looked awfully good at times on defense yesterday, but I still think they're a middling team...didn't they start 3-0 or 4-0 last year (don't recall which)? Look where they ultimately ended up...7-9. I'm not pushing the panic button just yet, but our players and coaches had better take a long look in the mirror this morning and point their bony fingers right at their reflection and tell that SOB staring back at them to get their **** wired or it could be a long season. I'm now on record as saying that the Cowboys will be NFCE champs by the time it's over. Time will tell if I'm Nostradomus or Nostradumass...

In the orginal prediciton thread I said 9-7.

I said this because of the young secondary and problems with are LB corp being injured or suspensions.
Plus we just don't know what we have at DE although Tank is currently in the lead of the NFL in sacks so maybe that will be a plus.

I had no clue that ANY team could completely man handle our Oline and run game. I understand not having a great night at running game...but never thought it could be dominated that bad.

I am hoping that is the Oline and 21's one rare bad game ala Barry Sanders 0 rushing yards or negative rushing yards game.

Exposed? Did anyone not know all of those things prior to this game? Even shleps like us understand we have no pass rush, the secondary plays 10 yards off the LOS and hopes to stop teams in the red zone and force FGs, and our coaches are horrible at creating mismatches and also at in game management. That's table stakes for this team, and everyone knew it last year on our way to 13-3.

We'll find out next week when we gotta play Arizona on their opening home game. There will be a large number of Cowboys fans at their stadium so the noise won't be as loud as it was in Denver. If Dak has to throw it 35+ times doubt we'll win.
