How good will Claiborne be? A superstar, pro bowler, a solid player, or a bust?

I think he'll be a superstar. :D

A mixture of Charles Woodson and Darrelle Revis.

If he's anywhere near as good as some of the great corners mentioned in this thread I'll be satisfied.

I think he can definitely make some pro bowls. His superstar status will depend on his willingness to improve.

I was big on his bandwagon when I thought we had no choice. My buddy is a huge Vikes fan, and I kept telling him they were nuts to take a (relatively) weak top OT when there was a strong DB sitting there for them.

I think Claiborne is the real deal, and I think he makes an immediate impact. He'll be a top-5 CB in this league inside of 2 seasons.

I saw Woodson play his whole college career and here's the thing: the BIg Ten was piss poor as a passing league when he was at Michigan: just really bad compared to the $EC this past season. So Mo has definately played against better competition. That said, his body is thicker and he's bigger than most of the cb's mentioned in this thread so far: Deion, Revis and Woodson were all pretty slight when they came out: they were ALL spectacular athletes who could contribute in the return game like MO as well. Deion is the best pure cover corner I've ever seen and Woodson is a hybrid animal that can come up on the line and snuff out the run. Revis is a mix of both.

Brass tacks: Mo reminds me of two guys: Mike Haynesworth and ROD Woodson. He's just as fluid, graceful and athletic as those two: yeah, they're hall of famers and I DO have that high of hopes for this kid. (I know I went old school on some of you, but do yourself a favor and youtube video of both if you are younger: YOU'LL see lots of similarities with claibornes' game):)

Is he better than Patrick Peterson? That's another debate.

I think it's close but I'd give the edge to Peterson.

Do you have a list of notable WRs he played against? I think Janoris has a reputation of shutting down big name WRs in college.

I'd be satisfied if he becomes a top 5 corner in the league. If he's the next Deion, I'd be ecstatic! What I'm looking for:

1. A playmaker - make plays on the ball, looking for the interception (like his highlights show at LSU).
2. A durable player - I'm tired of DB's with injury problems
3. A game changer - I want a corner that strikes fear in opposing offenses, like Deion used to!

If we get this from Claiborne, we'll be set!

From everything I have seen and read.. Patrick is better. I would say Claiborne has better hands though.

Well I would say I think he can be a Pro Bowler but the Pro Bowl itself is in question. :laugh2:

....just going off the simple fact the SEC is filled spectacular athletes, especially at the WR position. Bama, UF, UT, Auburn, S.Carolina all roll out fast and impressive WR's every year. I was making the point that Charles Woodson didn't have to worry too much about the WR's he was playing against in the mid 90's in the Big Ten in comparison.

J.Jenkins? Heck, I read a few draft reports that had his SKILL level rated as high or better than Mo's. But due to his off the field screw ups he was off many teams boards.....he's a helluva talent IMO.
