how long does it take for a broken back to heal?

Or maybe we should consider his needs before the team's.

That would be my take on it... let's wait for the doctors to do their thing, let him get started on the path to recovery, then let the experts tell us how long he's gonna be out...

Some folks really need a common decency filter between their brain and their mouth...

A classic example of that, of course, would be your average everyday Iggles fan... :D

I love the sanctimonious crowd.

No one is saying that he pushes himself and further risk injury. It is not out of line to ask what the reasonable expectation if his recovery is.

Get over yourselves.

I'm just wishing him well and I hope he has a speedy recovery for himself and his family. The football stuff isn't important at this point.

Pulling a Carlos Mencia here (stealing somebody else's schtick), on the nosey...

Hopefully things will be speedy. From what Ive read about the guy he could be a great addition to the team this season.

I broke my L5-S1 in 1998 in the same kind of way this went down. (Army GP tent in Kuwait collapse durning a sand strom)

I still have issues with my lower back and hip/pelvis, I don't let it stop me from doing anything, just deal with pain. I also decided to skip surgery, I did not want to have my back fused. He should be fine, but it does suck.

Post #25 is the first serious attempt at an answer to the OP. This might be some sort of record.

reports are that he has a fracture in the cervical spine (neck). the level and what specific vertebra & area is broken would needed before speculating further. the fact he has no spinal cord damage is very, very good news obviously.

And yet ANOTHER example of you passing judgement on others, while adding nothing of substance to the dialogue...

Here's a hint-- if and when we ever find ourselves in sudden need of your moral guidance, we'll ask for it...

I wouldn't hold my breath waiting...
